AROUND THE NFL WEEK 1

https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/...402723329?s=20

Eagles get a solid CB , they def have a legit roster. It will still be on Hurts to make the throws.

Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 1

The Eagles received Gardner-Johnson and the Saints' 2025 seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round draft pick and the worse of their two sixth-round draft picks in 2024, the source told Schefter.

Gardner-Johnson, who has experience both as a slot corner and safety, is expected to play safety in Philadelphia.

Thats the kinda move I was/am hoping the Skins make.

Eagles are killing it in the offseason ... and theyre adding young guys, not aged vets.

Just goes to show how much TV pundits actually know about who are going to be good players

Trade: Raiders are sending 2019 second-round pick Trayvon Mullen to the Arizona Cardinals, per sources.

Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 1

HENDERSON, Nev. -- The Las Vegas Raiders waived 2021 first-round draft pick Alex Leatherwood on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, the Raiders traded 2019 second-round pick Trayvon Mullen to the Arizona Cardinals. Las Vegas gets a 2023 conditional seventh-round pick that could become a sixth-round pick in the trade.

Leatherwood, an offensive lineman taken with the No. 17 overall pick out of Alabama to be the Raiders' foundational right tackle, regressed in the preseason and Las Vegas' new regime of coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler had seen enough.

In waiving the right tackle, the Raiders will take a $7.9 million hit to their salary cap if no other team claims him. Per Over The Cap, Leatherwood's $14.39 million salary was fully guaranteed.

None of the Raiders' three first-round picks from 2020-21 (WR Henry Ruggs III, CB Damon Arnette, Leatherwood) remain with the team, and none of the Raiders' three first-rounders from 2019 (DE Clelin Ferrell, RB Josh Jacobs, SS Johnathan Abram) had their fifth-year options picks up by the new regime this offseason.

Opportunity and health are the keys for cornerback Trayvon Mullen. The 2019 second-round pick started 26 games in his first two seasons but missed the majority of 2021 with foot and toe injuries. In all, he missed 12 games last season.

The 24-year-old's play has also been a bit up-and-down over the years. In 2020, he allowed an opposing passer rating of 93.1 in coverage. In both 2019 and 2021, though, his opposing passer rating fell below 85.0.

Trading some day 3 draft picks for a Cb is what Im hoping we still do.

Tough seeing Gardner-Johnson go for peanuts and the Eagles have to decide whether to pay him after this season so it could be a baseball 1 year rental.

Mullens is inconsistent, dont know much about him, but he fits the profile IM hoping we add. Someone with some starting experience but still young and had for cheap.

We need a solid CB4 bc no way WJ3, Fuller, St Juste finish the season.

Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 1

Raiders had 6 first round picks from 2019 to 2021.

3 are released.
3 didnt have their 5th year option picked up.

+4000 Raiders odds winning Super Bowl

+8500 cOMmAnDeRS odds

https://www.legalsportsreport.com/odds/super-bowl/

We need a competent QB, just a Kirk Cousins 12th to 15th best type QB, before we ever have a chance.

if Mayfield plays well in Carolina .. im gonna lose my shit.

Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 1

FRISCO - “That,” Jerry Jones, “ is safe to say.”

The “that” is the Dallas Cowboys' "choice'' to solidify the look of their 2022 NFL season-opening offensive line by starting first-round pick Tyler Smith at left tackle.

https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/...preview-injury

Smith's run-blocking tape is a sight to behold. Neither Neal nor Ekwonu led the FBS in big-time blocks last season; it was Smith. He likely ends up at guard and is a work in progress as a pass protector, but you can't teach his power.

https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/tyle.../draft-profile

Smith’s pass-blocking fundamentals are a large problem for him. He often plays too upright, which allows defenders to gain leverage on him by getting much lower and disabling his hand placement. He often ends up reaching for whatever he can grab onto, allowing more savvy defenders to slip past him.

His hand placement and technique will need to take massive leaps forward at the next level, and he’ll he will need to be coached up on both of these and become a more consistent blocker.

When he does get beat off the edge from a raw speed rush, or from his own poor hand placement, he has a bad tendency to grab onto the defender and draw a holding penalty. He’s very quick on the instinct to immediately hold as opposed to resetting and trusting his own strength, almost seeming to panic if things do not go his way from the outset in pass sets. This resulted in 16 penalties for him last year, which is a huge red flag.

Smith will need to have these habits fixed and remove that panic reaction if he wants to be a blindside protector in the NFL. He may be better suited to slide inside to guard if he cannot fix it right away, and perhaps transition to tackle later.

Giddity up .. Im calling it now. 2 holds and at least 1 sack against in week 1.

Boys v Bucs.

Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 1

Is Jalen Reagor really worth a 7th and a 4/5th ? Didn't check his actual stats but with all the S he's been taking online, I'm surprised...
