I agree re: the playmakers -- they have a better RB and stud WR (head case though he is) than we do, and each can score every time they touch the ball. Their offense is a lot better than the one we just faced, and while their D is much worse, we're not a team built to win a shootout. We will need to control the ball and keep their playmakers off the field, just like we did with Green Bay. I think we can, but they cannot take this team lightly.

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
The only way the Giants win is if we beat ourselves.
If we play the run tough as we have all year and don’t turn it over, it will be next to impossible for the Giants to win. It might not be pretty but honestly who cares. If you’re worried about style points this year it’s time to find a new team. |

So my plan would be to make Eli have to beat you deep, meaning make their line block you long enough to throw downfield. I doubt they can do it. So I'd bring DJ up towards the line quite a bit and let the corners play up on the line. When they try those little quick bubble screens to Beckham you have to be there to hit him immediately. If they want to try 7 step drops behind that line with statue Eli back there, I'll take my chances with Montae in single high. Chances are our pass rush will disrupt Manning often enough. I think you're right, I think the Skins know that the Giants will try to get the ball out of Eli's hands quickly. They'll have a plan to squash any possibility of Beckham or Saquon having space to work with.

Quinton Dunbar and Jamison Crowder not practicing today.
Crowder been a bum again this year...guess trey Quinn will be taking his position this offseason. It’s crazy about Dunbar...and they really don’t seem to know what’s going on. Shin pain, nerve damage? |

Yeah doesn't look like either will play this week, Q was having a great year too. Sucks.

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
Our DBs have terrible fucking luck with nerve injuries.
Kyshoen Jarrett was not that long ago. Maybe its more common than I think across the league, doesn't feel that way tho.

I agree it's sucky, and having two occasions in 3/4(?) years blows but I wouldn't say "Our DB's..."

Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
All about preparation this week.
Has Jay Gruden really changed his relationship with this locker room after the NOS loss ? This week will be very telling: after back to back wins, can you keep the guys fired up and focused? We all know we have talent to win this game. Our biggest enemy could be ourselves... I do hope the players are fed up with losing games they should win because of sloppiness, so: Skins 24 Giants 17

I watched last week's Giants game and I thought the G-Men played very hard, especially on defense. I expect them to play hard this week, too. We had better be ready to slug it out because it will be a fight. |

For the first part, maybe I'm misusing the word sloppiness, but IMO there's a link between preparation and "fired-up-ness": Josh Norman doesn't blow coverage because he doesn't know the playbook, he blows coverage because he's not well enough focused, and part that is bad energy in the locker room. Re: Giants Pre Game Thread (Version1)
Since last season Giants are 1-8 when out-gaining opponents. Those worried about the Skins moving the ball can take a deep breath.
I feel oddly confident going into a game. That hasn't happened in a while. |

I am more concerned about this game then the Cowboys game. Eli has always has the skins number and we generally do not do well after a big win.

Giants have the ability to burn you with the big play...and chances are they will at least once against us. We need to contain the Saquon kid and then limit the big pass plays. It would be nice if Alex could make a big pass play, but he has been such a disappointing mess I really have my doubts. |
