Playcalling: Minor things here and there. Going fullback dive on two consecutive third and ones = bad idea. Abandoning the run (even though it wasn't working) is not smart. On defense the big one is the all out blitz on third down that left Dez Bryant one on one with D.Hall. Even I know that's a battle we don't win.

Offensive line: not just Jammal Brown getting manhandled by D.Ware, the run blocking was not there for the 2nd time in 3 games. Is it a lack of talent? Because the coaching scheme should be effective. It makes it easier to abandon the run when you're not effective running the ball.
People who keep blaming the media: I don't think I noticed this as much as SS did, but one question: Did the media suit up and play the game? No? Are you sure?
For me, O-line is at the top of my sh*t list for this game. They absolutely couldn't open up any holes -- way too many 1, 2, 3 yard gains. When you're up 16-12 with 5 minutes to play, you HAVE to grind out a drive. I like Kyle's aggressive playcalling, but when the running lanes aren't there, he obviously knew he had to get the yardage somehow.

He should have made more of a commitment to running the ball, but how can he when the guys up front just aren't making the plays?

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

I know this is a smackdown thread, but how good was our defense independent of their blown assignments? Jason Garrett, a former QB and hired offensive mind, chose to punt a very make-able 4th and 7th because he didn't have a play to get seven yards.

That's mind boggling. You have Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Dez Bryant, and Felix Jones on the same field and you don't have a play that can get you seven yards? You're being dominated.

Before we vilify Haslett for being figured out by the sixtieth call, consider how dominant he was schematically in the first 59. The offense just has to do more than it has the last two weeks, or we can't finish above .500.

More Helu, less Hightower? That's the first change I would make.

Those stretch runs early opened up the middle of the field for the Skins to attack but the first shot they took Grossy through that duck to Lee

Our red zone offense is non-existence and disgusting. KS and the whole offense needs to be called out on that. We should've been up 21-9 by halftime.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

Kyle Shanahan- Terrible play calling. Why wasn't Hightower in the game until 1:52 left to go? We got away from giving Hightower the ball. After that touchdown, we needed to run the ball with Hightower, setting up the play action pass.

D Hall- TERRIBLE COVERAGE. On 3rd and freakin 21. You CANNOT give up that much, and a 15 yrd facemask penalty.

Entire Team- Completely undisciplined. Rocca's missed hold, Atogwe's holding in the red zone, missed tackles, false starts, allowing an injured Felix Jones to run for 140 yds.

The skins haven't been good in the R.Z in 20 years

And the MNF opening musical segment.

Unless you yourself composed it. If so, very well played SS.

Well, if we were good enough to be up 21-9 by halftime, we'd also be good enough to start making super bowl reservations.

But we're not actually that good.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

Rex - Not gonna happen with this lead weight. We cant have that kind of inconsistency at QB. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about it.

D. Hall - My man let me down tonight at a critical time. But give me a f-ing break, Haslett calls an all out blitz on 3 and 21??? WTF!!! Did that call come off the Cowboys sideline???

This game just felt like destiny unfolding right before my eyes. I was practically predicting the last 6 minutes play by play right down to the turnover at the end.

History just keeps repeating itself. New team, same results. Any other team in the NFL would have beat the Cowboys tonight.
