He's a good Player but hes not an elite level Player, TO got away with it when he was a top 2 WR, Dez Bryant did this for years until he got old and washed up. DJ is not a top 5 Player at his position, he started off like he was but then faded like he usually does every season. I liked the guys passion but he talked too much throughout the weeks. I'm sure someone will pick him up asap, probably a team like NO who is in the SB hunt.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released

Isn’t Adonis Alexander supposed to be our future safety?

Haha is gone too, plus DJ was gonna command a solid payday and I doubt the skins could pay him regardless. So add Safety to the list of needs asap lol

I don’t if he’ll get paid what he wants unless he changes his attitude, that’s a big red flag on him.

Agreed...wow.

While his criticism of Manusky is probably accurate, DJ's become the boy who cried wolf.

Instead of chirping all the time, how 'bout you stop the Titans from driving the field late in the 4th quarter with the season on the line.

Time to move on... best of luck DJ.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released

I blame this MF’er for all this shit, started with him and took his shitty pussy attitude to Denver.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released

..if you are the head coach and you repeatedly tell your star safety to stop speaking publicly against the coaches and your star safety keeps doing it you have to dump your star safety....Sean Taylor had 2 losing seasons with the Redskins in 2004 and 2006 that were less than 7-9(6-10 in 2004 and 5-11 in 2006) and Sean never said anything negative about Gregg Williams... DJ called himself Sean Taylor reincarnated....he is not Sean Taylor....as much as this coaching staff gets under my skin with their never ending incomptence, Gruden did the right thing...if you're a captain and you're a star defender, you don't publicly undermine your coaches....even if you're right....the punishment fits the violation....

Without a shadow of a doubt Swearinger has apparently proven to be incompatible with the Redskins coaches...

As I said, disagreements happen on every NFL sideline. Go to your coach, close the door and have a conversation. Going to the media on multiple occasions is asking to get fired. This has nothing to do w/ Bruce or the owner. He is bitching about the calls made during a game. Enough already.

DJ says if he plays in the Pro Bowl, he will try and wear a South Carolina uniform.

Has anything like this ever happened before, where a player who potentially is going to play in the pro bowl has been released by their club?

I would have to think this is a first.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released

This is a problem.
The most of the players respect DJ more than Gruden.
He was the vocal team leader and while I don't agree how he handles his shit his fellow players respect him.
If jay is back, he is going to have a handful of guys that have zero trust in him and Manusky.

Team stability is gone. What little credibility Jay had is gone.
There are solid players out there that Jay couldn't coach.
He has failed as a leader and I doubt the majority of players respect him.

wow i'm dramatic.
F this team.

Merry Christmas!

I don't agree with your assessment of Jay.
Last week he benched DJ for 1 play.
What kind of punishment is that? Thats like locking a kid up in his room with a nintendo.

Jay has no backbone and the players walk all over him.

Jay and Manusky don't have the balls to deal with a guy like Sean Taylor either.

Jay needs choir boys and church mice like Doctson and Preston Smith.
They couldn't handle a superstar if they had one.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released

Big stretch to say DJ has more support than Jay in the locker room. In fact I’d say that’s just completely false.
