Re: Bruce Allen FINALLY speaks....at the Senior Bowl

The only good talent we brought in was Cousins...the guy Shanny and Son wanted. The guy Bruce/Dan hated. The one Bruce refused to signed to a deal at 19 mil per...the one who Bruce never was going to extend long term and refused to trade when we had the chance...the one who actually performed well...check the stats.

McNabb sucked, RG3 sucked, Nate Sudfuck sucked, and

Alex Smith....who played at avg level at best, certainly not worth the trade and certainly not what he was paid. Alex was propped up by a great RB and playmakers...KC got rid of him and woulda gone to the SB if it wasn't for Dee Ford. He wasn't worth a shit to KC. His stats and performance this year was a disappointment. His QBR was terrible

Remember all the trades and wasted money with these guys. We gave up much more than we every got with performance...and that cant be argued.

Historically the Redskins are not good at QB Talent Evaluations, Rypien was ok and Joe T was good but other than that Kirk Cousins was on pace to being the greatest Redskins QB ever lol.

Browns
Bears
Jets (besides Namath)
Redskins

That's about as bad as it gets with QB's historically.

Re: Bruce Allen FINALLY speaks....at the Senior Bowl

Cousins Graded out about the same as he always does, around 70. It's average in the NFL.

A brief write up from our team at PFF

Cousins' season can be summed up much like his previous years in
Washington: He can move the offense with well-designed passing concepts
that keep him in rhythm in games where his offense has the upper hand, but
he fails to make the tough plays required to get the job done in key games and
moments. There was some really good to Cousins'game,as he was under
duress as much as any QB in the NFL yet continued to find completions, but
the missing factors and lack of extending and creating plays on his own were
a detriment to the offense as the season wore on.

Yeah haven't seen much talent come in under Bruce at the qb position.... At all. Have to agree with Chico there. And Nate sudfled is not a viable answer at all, no.

Place is a shit show, I don't know if it will ever stop.

IDK, I always thought Doug Williams was a good QB for the Skins.

Yea I saw how good Cousins was when surrounded by a good team and coaches ... oh wait he put up great stats and missed playoffs .. that turnover thingy he has is still with him.. the jury is still out about Cousins as far as winning BIG games..! For the record I don’t agree how his situation was handled here but I’m not sold he was ever going to be the guy to carry this team on his back..

being a good QB doesn't mean being able to carry a team on their back. There are only a couple of guys in the NFL which can do that consistently. Guys like that are rare. If that's what you're standard is, youre always going to be disappointed. Cousins was, and still is, in the top half of starting QBs in the league. He's not ELITE. Hes not GREAT. But he is GOOD.

Re: Bruce Allen FINALLY speaks....at the Senior Bowl

I agree with you ! However he didn’t want good QB money he wanted to be paid like an elite QB .. what sucks is we could have had him earlier for reasonable money .. but the powers that be Screwed all that up. And here we are with no QB for the future..

He got paid what he did because that is the going rate for qbs that can do what they do when they get to free agency. It all goes back to FO mismanagement

He was a back up in Washington. His claim to fame is coming off the bench to help blow out Denver 42-10 in the 1987 Super Bowl while putting up big numbers. You could kind of call him a one hit wonder, that one game endears him to a lot of Redskin fans.
The rest of his career was below average compared to his peers.

Edit: NVM. I don't wanna keep going down the Cousins road.

Sammy Baugh is the only franchise QB the skins have drafted. That was a while ago....

This is probably for the best, but I still can't believe some of the arguments here about that. But moving on.
