what is the best way to check and make sure a thread hasnt been already posted on the same topic without having to manually search?

Don't know if you can do this or not...

But for those under 1,000 posts or something like that... you should temporarily redirect the user to the search page, or some kind of "Are you sure your not posting a retarded thread?" pop up message...

If people are too lazy to use google, they're probably too lazy to read the forum guidelines. This might be able to curb some of the duplicates and such...
