Sapp?
My friend came into work today saying that one of the San Diego stations is saying that the Skins are persuing Sapp. Anybody else heard anything besides the Cerratto interview?

I haven't heard a thing (of course I'm in AZ). I sure hope they are wrong though. We don't need him here at all. He should just stay in TB and retire there!!!

Check the DC101 thread, Vinny Cerrato came right out and said Sapp isn't a redskin type of guy.
It's easy to say the Redskins are going after Big Name X because we do a lot in Free Agency. We're just the leagues rumor mill! |

Everything I've heard says the Skins won't go after Sapp, unless you're reading profootballtalk that is

Cerratto can say anything he wants. The last thing he wants to do is drive up the price a la Jevon Kearse. It's such our M.O. to go after a big name like Sapp.

I heard somewhere that Chicago and the 'Skins were still in the running for Sapp. I think he will end up back in TB though.
I wonder what Gibbs would have to say about Sapp running through the opponent's pre-game warm-ups or his crying about the NFL "slavery" he's enduring. I wonder if Lavar would still want to deck him if he was a teammate. |

Yeah, I don't see Sapp as a Redskin. I think Gibbs would cut him faster than he could holler rape!

Sapp used to be a great player, now he is just good, and he will be demanding great player money....sounds like the skins to try to sign somebody like this, but I really really hope not to sign him....this really reminds me of the Deion Sanders signing.

Sapp is an anti-Redskin in every way. Hopefully we have learned from our abysmal experience with Deion Sanders, another anti-Redskin. I can't imagine Gibbs would go for that but you never know.

ha, my thoughts exactly, I am sure we are stating the obvious but it still needed to be said. Sapp like Sanders is a cancer.

For me the same sort of stigma applies to Kearse, though he's not a cancer and is closer to his prime ... but I just can't see him in a Redskins uniform and I definitely don't think he's worth the money. He's relatively young but it seems like his best years are behind him, sort of like Sapp.
