You're right. In reality, it certainly doesn't make it better.

But Snyder likes Bruce and certainly is looking for excuses to keep him around. Winning - especially with young players making strong contributions - supports Allen's false narrative that "we're close" and have "a damn good culture."

Links or GTFO.

Hell no to Pioli, he was a garbage GM with the Chiefs and his management style rubbed people the wrong way. I am happily willing to back that up too.

Since he left the Chiefs he worked his way back up to asst. GM with the Falcons before resigning in May.

Idc if he's matured since his KC days, I still wouldn't touch him with Dan Snyder's wallet.

Even with the win we actually moved up in draft position from 4 to 3.

From the article:

“It just goes to show you how behind the times [Allen] is, and he still tries to use that money to hold it over black athletes,” Williams said.

Screw TW now, totally uncalled for. Now I don't blame Bruce for anything involved in the situation with Trent.

Trent did more for his case when he didn't say anything, and I was one calling for him to speak out.

You try and use the rules by showing up at the last minute and saying you arent going to play, and surprise surprise the team knows how to use the rules too.

That said, I wish he articulated it in a way that DS would hear it and fire BA, but this wasn't it.

Agreed. The entire league knows Bruce Allen is a terrible GM and slimy human being. No news there. But this is crossing the line.

Every time Trent opens his mouth, he makes himself look more and more like the greedy piece of shit he is and making it less and less likely that anyone will trade for him or sign him to a lucrative contract if he were to become a free agent.

This all started last off-season when Trent asked for more money when he still had two years left on his deal. When the team said no, trents cancerous behavior has escalated:
- first, he held out of offseason activities
- he remained silent while he directed his cronies to spread rumors about some wrongdoing in the part Of the medical staff
- he held out of regular season games
- he comes back and publicaly smears the team and medical staff, telling an outrageous story full of contradictions and serious allegations
- when the team requests an independent investigation, Trent refuses to allow it (which no innocent person would do if here was true medical malpractice)
- now he’s accusing the team president of racist actions.

What general manager (most of whom are white men) is going to want to bring in a player who has shown that this is what he will do when he wants more money than you agreed to pay him? Especially when this player is old, injury prone, and one failed drug test away from a 1 year suspension.

Re: Why moving on from Bruce Allen this year is pivotal to the future of the franchise.

The exact quote from Sheehan's 12-4-19 pod is he has an informed hunch Bruce will no longer be part of football ops.

He said he had the same informed hunch last year though.

He expects news next week at league meetings.

Add to that the multiple reports today that the redskins have reached out to multiple coaching candidates who are concerned about the current front office structure.

However, Snyder can not be counted on to do the smart thing. Time and again, he’s proven to be delusional and stubborn. Given trents most recent attack and the constant media criticism, i could see him keeping Bruce out of spite.

I am with you 100%. Trent crossed the line. He just looks like a crybaby now whose last resort was to use the race card. Totally uncalled for.

Even if TW had left off the word black, the underlying point is absurd. Of course GMs use contracts and guaranteed money as both carrots and sticks.

Not sure I'm w/ Trent on the race thing. Allen screwed over Cousins and low balled him on a ltd.

Just enforces the fact Bruce should have traded TW when he had the chance

There will be plenty of teams more than willing to bring Trent in. He will get paid handsomely for sure.
