I'm pretty sure the actual draft begins at noon as well

The countdown above indicates noon, and I heard somewhere that the Redskin's #5 pick will be announced at 1:15pm, which also indicates the draft starts at noon.

Yeah, forgive my earlier post that said it starts at 1pm. I thought I had heard that elsewhere, but it looks like the draft starts at 12pm, which is when the ESPN draft show starts. The expected pick time for the Redskins of 1:15 would also indicate a 12pm start-time, as Phinehas said.

The originator of the 1:00 start time was me. I thought I had seen a reference to that somewhere, but, clearly I was wrong.

Please don't beat me too severely.

That would assume that every team took the full 15 mins right? I would expect it a a litle early. I only say this so no one thinks it will be after 1 for certain and end up missing it.

I was thinking the same thing. It will probably be anywhere from about 12:45 to 1:15.

Good point, hi-jinx. Everyone should watch this draft from the beginning (12:00pm), anyway. This has to be one of the most talked-about and exciting drafts in a while. I know I can't wait for it to get started! Heck, I'm even TiVOing it, and I'm going to be watching every minute of it, anyway!

plus if there r trades that take place, they almost always occur right before the team's 15 minutes r up so that would add another possible 15 minutes for the new team to drag it out and dramatize it.

NFL Draft Sundial

I think it's a pretty safe bet the 'Skins' turn won't come up until 1:00 and their pick won't be until 1:14:50. This is big money for ESPN (and therefore big money for the NFL by nature of their contract), so every team in the first round, if not the first two or three, will take their full allotment of time. You gotta max out the camera time!

More Time = More Commercials = More $$ bling-bling!

Tomorrow, you'll probably be able to set your watch by it.

i was thinking that too with as big of a ratings monster the draft has become. of course if i were the vikings i'd turn in my pick within five minutes of being on the clock just in case the messenger trips and falls or something else happens before being able to give the pick to the commish.

I think we will pick at 115. Do any teams other than Arizona know who they want to pick yet?!?!? Theres hundreds of trade rumors for the top five picks. Everyones phones are going to be ringing off the hook with offers to get their guy. Last years draft when faster than any draft ive ever seen, I dont see that happening this year.
