I don't think any of them are actually bible thumpers. They're obviously very religious but I don't see them putting it in your face. Tim Tebow is a bible thumper with an agenda.

I remember one game when Tebow had a mic and he's going around before the game singing about God. Just totally playing to the cameras.

I have also been very disappointed in the backs. Jones has potential but how can you trust him during a key stretch where you're trying to lock up 1st place.

I know this gets away from McCloughan's trenches-first mentality, but the thought has crossed my mind that Leonard Fournette would look great in Burgundy & Gold.

But that's the fan in me speaking, I'd want McCloughan to do what he thinks is right.

I'd love Fournette when he comes out, but the chance of that happening is slim, but I can dream

I for one like true fact that the possible QB of the future of the Redskins is a man of faith. not sure what the negative side of this could possibly be. Remember Joe Gibbs was and still is a man of Great Christian faith.

Yeah that's the key. Religion is like a penis, many people have one but it's not a problem unless you take it out and wave it in everybody's face.

Cousins doesn't put it out there. There was a great long form essay on SI.com yesterday about him, it talks about his upbringing as the son of a pastor, but that's not Cousins advancing any kind of religious agenda, he's simply answering questions about how he was raised.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Unless something changes drastically, the passing game will have to make this offense go for the remainder of this season. Period. I wish it wasn't so, but the running game has just been too inconsistent and often at times lousy. The injured O-lineman aren't coming back this season and we have a big enough sample size from the guys who are there to see that it isn't working. I hope they make me look like an a-hole for the final month of the season though.

Matt Jones has been an asset in the passing/screen game but he is still finding his way behind the line of scrimmage. I actually think Thompson should be getting more looks/snaps as he is also a burner, but has seemed to have more success. I do see why you still have to hand the ball off to Jones some though, because if you don't, then anytime he enters the game teams will be shifting coverage towards him to blow up any possible screen attempt.

I could care less about what a player believes in as long as he can ball he's good with me.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

I think Cousins has done enough to justify him being the QB in 2016 and perhaps 2017. I would stop short in saying that he has shown to be a long term franchise quarterback solution though.

In the short term he is likely the best option available. Even if we drafted someone we think would eventually be a franchise QB, they wouldn't likely move the team forward overall right away.

We have 3 road games left. We are going to see what Cousins is truly made of now because the locker room certainly knows that they are in the driver's seat. If they win games, they make the playoffs period. It's an added element of excitement, but also pressure and in my opinion it is a good test for a QB that is attempting to emerge out of the fray and establish himself. If Kirk Cousins is able to protect the ball and play, say....75% of how he has played during home games, we are likely going to win enough games to take the division. The QB is not the only variable of course, but Kirk has been a different QB so far at home compared to the road. That is not acceptable moving forward however. This isn't September anymore. December is when the men are separated from the boys and teams and players need to really show they want it.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Late to the party but great win for the team on Sunday.
Tied for 1st in the East, who woulda thunk it?

I liked the play-action and movement based passing game for Kirk.
I hope Jay mixes in more of that to go along with his 3-step based passing attack. Kirk/Jay didn't capitalize off the Gints turnovers early but go it going eventually. Would like to see faster starts. But def liked the play-action and movement based passing game for Kirk.

I hope Kirk can finish strong. Maybe he could be our Fitzpatrick or pre-pick-6 Matt Schaub.
