I'm not going to name each peoson but if you read the post on this thread its not hard to figure out. I'm not sure if Hess is a Dem because I cannot rember her post from prior threads to know. If I had to guess I'd lean that way.

McCain has managed to solidify his base of evangelicals, pro-lifers and NRA members. Mock them all you want or disagree with them all you want, but you can't deny they make up a massive portion of the vote.

At the same time he's brought in someone young and fresh to combat his decidedly aged image. A pretty face doesn't hurt either. Again, you can disagree all you want, but my experience in marketing and advertising has taught me that a pretty face goes a long way in convincing an audience of a point.

Look how much Obama's youth and charisma have gotten him - McCain getting a dose of that when he's seriously lacking in that area helps tremendously.

I think two things are very interesting about this: assuming Nader doesn't make some kind of surprise end-around, whoever wins the election will make history. First black president or first female vice president any way you slice it. Fascinating.

Second, of the four (Obama, Biden, McCain, Palin), as far as I know Palin is the only one with actual experience running and administrating a government. The other three are Senators and, as far as I know, never spent any time actually running a local or state government.

Once again this race gets very, very interesting. Either way we're watching history in the making.
While people think conservatives do not care about the enviroment she is very pro enviroment.

I ask because I read through and didn't see anything particularly offensive. I'm not saying this is the greatest political discussion of all time but I don't think it is sexist.

I think it will not be good for the county over all becuase I don't think the county is ready....

OK, that's it.. I'm done..

It's a fact? How so?

Do you have quantitative data to backup a massive, sweeping assertion about what the "rest of the world" thinks?

Have you spoken with a sufficient portion of the non-U.S. population of the world to extrapolate that "the rest of the world" holds a certain view of the U.S.?

Simply declaring something a fact doesn't make it so. I can declare that up is down and red is blue as well, but it doesn't make it any more rational.

I think Hess is way off base in her thoughts here, but I don't think calling her "babe" helps the case against her thoughts.

Re: Update: McCain Selects Gov. Sarah Palin as Running Mate

She just gave an incredible speech and even gave credit to Ms. Clinton for furthering the progress of women. She told about her accomplishments of holding people accountable in government, her great experience and qualifications, and how her son joined the army.

She is infinitely more qualified than Obama with all of her executive experience and she has a strong set of morals on top of that. She;s a great speaker too and did nothing to trash her opponents.

McCain looks like a genius now.

I think Thatcher is universally regarded very highly. Not just in the UK and Europe. I understand your points and I agree that it exists here but I just don't agree that her being female actually matters. It sure doesn't matter to me at all. And the fact that she is attractive and could get the "horndog" vote is meaningless to me. There are "horndogs" everywhere. Not just here.

Anyone else think it is ironic that McCain, the painted womanizer, choose a younger attractive female as is his running mate? I wonder if CIndy said "Oh no you di'nt!"

Are you Barack Obama posing as a redhead on here? Wow...

That "America is worse than Europe" theme...I'm sick of it.

I think you can say the quality of the positions the individuals in question were appointed to is pretty damn high. The quality of the individuals however... that's another story.

Colin Powell, Condi Rice, others aren't quality?

You could say that if Clinton's quantity wasn't zero.

Good post man. Intersting indeed. I do love the game of politics almost as much as football. Being from Washington must have ingrained that in me.
