Re: NFL Top 100

Well it is voted on obviously by the players. I think there has to be some bias in there because of friendships and whatnot, but if a guy like Vonta Leach is voted up as high as he is on there, he must be doing something right. He did have a breakout season of sorts last year, what with blocking for the NFL's leading rusher.

I'm not sweating seeing any Redskins other McNabb on the list. I think it will honestly just make them more eager to prove themselves this season so that guys like Orakpo and Landry will be on it next season. I thought Landry himself was having a major breakout season before he got injured last year. As far as McNabb goes though, if it was ranking the top 100 players of 2010 there's no way he'd be on the list. But some players voted like they were ranking the top 100 players of 2010 and others voted based on lifetime accomplishments.

Re: NFL Top 100

Fletcher should be in the top 10, I'd have to think he should be one of the most-respected players in the league and he DOES have the stats on top of that too.

No respect.

Combination of the Redskins not being great and there being a collective pity party around the league for the Redskins "wronging" McNabb.

Re: NFL Top 100

Random thought here.
The list hasn't included Julius Peppers yet.
Either he isn't on there...which would be some BS

Or,

He's in the top 10 best NFL players...which is also some BS

He's by far the best player on the team, I know we suck but come on people give 98 his due.

And as far as JPeppers I think top 10 for him is a stretch, dware is better than JP IMO.

Its like this list is the best players currently playing in the NFL as of 2010 AND those who had a breakout season in 2011.

Re: NFL Top 100

The list is seriously flawed, but who cares it's just for entertainment purposes.

Re: NFL Top 100

Orakpo can't be on there, yet, because he doesn't have a well developed skill outside of rushing the passer. But that never really stopped everyone from jumping on DeMarcus Ware back when he was an every down rushing specialist. Fletcher, unquestionably, should have been on the list, but the same players who vote for the pro bowl voted for this list, so there you go.

Also, Brandon Lloyd is on a "Top 100" list specifically for being a football player. Thats...not good.

Re: NFL Top 100

I mean, most 3-4 outside linebacker spend most of their time rushing the passer. On NFL Network someone said they asked Wade Phillips about turning Mario Williams into an outside linebacker and what about his coverage skills, and Phillips said Ware dropped into coverage on purpose maybe all of six times. Now maybe he's exaggerating, but still, if you're watching D-Ware, chances are he's coming after the quarterback.

That's true of most outside linebackers, and I think that even the best ones (Woodley, Harrison, Suggs, Tamba Hali, Clay Mathews) can be liabilities in coverage. Some are better than others, but really, you get those kinds of guys to have them rush the quarterback.

As for Fletcher, the guy is one of the most unappreciated linebackers in the league. Dhani Jones actually put Fletcher on his top 10 list of best linebackers in the league on NFL Total Access, and Fran Charles goes "Really? London Fletcher"?

YES, REALLY, LONDON FLETCHER. Guy does nothing but produce year after year after year and never gets any credit.

Agreed.

I could easily see Rak in the top 100, and certainly Fletcher. Neither are getting any respect from this list.
