Re: Which Redskins Should Receive Contract Extensions after the Lockout
LL is a baller, not worried about him flopping.

Re: Which Redskins Should Receive Contract Extensions after the Lockout
I have one jersey and it's a Cooley jersey.
Therefore we are not trading #47. End of discussion. |

You going to sign Asomugha instead? Good luck.

Re: Which Redskins Should Receive Contract Extensions after the Lockout
that may be the case and there are also reports to the contrary so it's kinda hard to say... I don't think that we've seen davis enough to really evaluate on the field differences.. cooley hands seem to be getting worse on him but maybe that was a mcnabb thing, but I can recall several times he had the ball knocked out after the catch, luckily mostly on the sidelines.. looking at his numbers maybe that's overstated I'd have to go back and look again, either way he's a valuable asset but we need to find a way to make the best case scenario for both of our tight ends

Re: Which Redskins Should Receive Contract Extensions after the Lockout
Landry and Fred Davis (but out of his own self interest its probably the right move for him not to sign it)
I would extend Fletch for 2 years and hopefully we'll find or he'll groom someone to take his place. I'd extend Carriker and re-sign Doughty on the cheap. I have to look at Barnes number but I depending on what year he's in I'd sign him on the cheap too same with any players that might see an increase in playing time where they could play their way into a big number down the line. Yes, I'm a cheap bastard. |

Re: Which Redskins Should Receive Contract Extensions after the Lockout
Well... It sounded to me as if you were in disagreement with Matty's statement about locking up LL. So therefore... I ass-umed if you did not wish to retain LL that another FA CB would be on your list. And voila, I give you Asomugha, the likely highest valued CB to go on the market. Purhaps my dots are a bit disconnected from your intended meaning originally, I blame it on the internet.

Laundry = Safety Asomugha = Corner Back The two aren't even in the same ball park in terms of position. Besides, Asomugh has shown to be elite from the get go. LL has only really shown one good year, and it wasn't even a full year. He's got two more years left, let him earn that extension this year. |

Re: Which Redskins Should Receive Contract Extensions after the Lockout
I think the team will sign players that need to be signed such as Moss who's contracts have ended. Then I guess they have a whole year to work on the guys in their last year. No way are they going to look at guys 2 or 3 years away in order to sign them to life long contracts. The team will wait and evaluate the player in their last year. Unless the team needs to restructure someone's contract in order to get below the CAP which should not be a problem this year.

Uh...don't all teams have to sign rookie FA, their own UFA...and then go through a massive shopping spree all within a week with the largest UFA pool in years I really think anyone with an existing contract will have to "chill out"....now if you are saying mid year...perhaps...but that is mostly a distraction. Yes, they did this with McNabb...so if they extend anyone midyear, it would be Landry...otherwise, you are talking about next years offseason problem.
