Re: Steelers Saturday

I want to see more Redskins fans in the stadium, than Steelers fans.

Re: Steelers Saturday

Absolutely must see:
- NO INJURIES...

- No complete breakdowns of units (i.e. O-line looks like they did against Pitt last year or the secondary looked like it did last week)

Would strongly like to see:
- More effort as a team...show some more passion and game readiness. I'd like to see guys playing on the balls of their feet rather than on their heels

- Scoring...not asking for much here, just no goose egg; double digits by first team O would be phenomenal

- Turnovers in our favor; A few sacks or tackles for loss by our 1st team D-line

Wishlist:
- Long play or two from the first team Offense, preferably to one of the sophomores

- No Sacks allowed or offensive TO's

- Colt working with the second team ahead of Todd Collins...leading a scoring drive

- Pick six by Barnes; 50+ yard FG made (and no missed FG's); Hunter the Punter pinning kicks inside the 5 (late in the game); A Jim Zorn Hip-Hip-Hooray

Re: Steelers Saturday

I'd like to see a couple of deep routes. Can our line pass protect? How doe's Kelly, DT, and Marko Mitchell look going deep? Do they know the routes and can they beat their man? I'd like to see our complete starting "D" on the field for a couple of series.

I don't know, points?

I'm more worried about what I'm going to eat. There's a race too and Ma-Dukes likes the Steelers. I'm never going to hear the end of this.

Re: Steelers Saturday

Yeah, some points would be nice. Play JC at least a quarter, maybe even a half. Hell, it's not like we have Tom Brady or something. Although TB did play almost a half right. Coming off of major surgery?

Look our team more than others needs PRACTICE offensively. Real game practice.

Re: Steelers Saturday

I would like to point out that they are last season's SB Champs. Calling them the SB Champs is misleading. They do not get an automatic slot in the Playoffs to defend their title just because they won the SB last season. Sorry, I just hate that term SB Champs and Defending SB Champs. They were the SB Champs until August, they aren't the Champs anymore.

As far as what I want to see, I pretty much agree with Rajmahal33.

And, of course...Chase Daniel
The LBs looked awful against Balt. I think they of all worried me the most. Even Fletch looked like crap at times. They and Tryon killed us.

Re: Steelers Saturday

real game day effort and indications they are going to be ready to roll come sept.

zorn has taken it easy on the fellas and i think it showed in balt. we cant take it easy and hope things click by the time we face the giants. we need to start coming together as a team now and the only way to do that is to play the 1st team O and D, not this "no portis, moss, AH" crap. \

play the 1st teamers through the 1st quarter. if the O has 2 3nouts by the end of the 1st quarter leave them out there till they start getting things right.

things will not magically come together in reg season if zorn doesnt start busting tails aout there.

Re: Steelers Saturday

rhythm, consistency, some semblance of balance. Would like the offense to spend more than 5 minutes on the field for the whole game.

Re: Steelers Saturday

So, for all those who have been screaming to work harder, seems like we are starting to see more payoff in the form of injuries. Granted we would see them eventually, but I think that they got 3 solid weeks of TC in before any real injuries were reported (not saying Cooley's back spasm is a "real injury"). I think that's what is most important, making it through TC without losing any one for the season.

Re: Steelers Saturday

JC going through all his progressions and if nothings there Id like to see him make something happen with his feet. He must show that he is playing for a contract and that there is some since of urgency that he wants the team to win,all in what little playing time he gets.

Re: Steelers Saturday

It will be interesting to see how our o-line holds up against a good Steelers defense. Fletch has some good things to say after practice.

I've been saying since before we signed him that Fletch's lost a step. I've been really wrong so far, but I worry that any minute now he just won't be the same anymore. I fear Cris Dishman all over again
