Trent Williams' 5-year, $66 million extension, including $43.25 million gtd, should make him NFL's highest-paid OT.

Let's see how long it takes for someone to complain about this.

Hooray!! Positive Skins news. I'll take it.

Probably a bit excessive in all, but it is what it is.

The problem with calling it excessive is that the cap is going up a good amount each year with the new TV contracts kicking in a year or two ago. It may be excessive now, in 2 years, it could be the right amount, and the last couple of years, it may be a bargain. I think you are really starting to see the teams realize this and understand its time to do bigger contracts now, because they will only keep ballooning even larger as each year passes. Just look at some of the FA Signings. The Redskins seem to have stepped away from the ridiculous FA contracts, yet they keep getting bigger and bigger without our help when we were the team fueling it in the past.

Personally, im glad its done with. I worry about TW some with injuries, but he is by far our best player on the OL and in the discussion for best player on the team.

Re: Redskins resign Trent Williams to 5yr $66M extension

Good news!!!! That is freaking awesome. Him, Kerrigan, and AlfMo are my 3 favorite Redskins. 2 of the 3 locked up long term. Hopefullly we keep AlfMo, but I know how it goes with RB's. Might have to get used to Matt Jones being my 3rd favorite Skins player soon. I'll take it, we all needed this news today. HTTTrent Willams!!

Re: Redskins resign Trent Williams to 5yr $66M extension

Us Skins fans don't get much stuff to be excited about, sadly, I was only 8 last time Skins won the S/B. I vaguely remember it. But guys like Trent, who plays hurt, and Kerrigan who knock on wood has been relatively healthy, would too, show up every Sunday and battle their ass*s off.

It also shows that loyalty goes a long ways, Trent had some issues coming out of college, and Kerrigan was supposedly a reach (he has already proved that wrong), and they are both key leaders and pro bowl caliber players every year for us.

I love him getting re-signed, highest paid, who cares, we gave Albert Pieceofshitsworth, 100 million, Trent is worth it. I love how he sacrificed his recognition last year to play hurt and grind it out, FOR A 4-12 TEAM! Love him for that, he could have easily packed it in.

This!

This!

This!

Him and Kerriagan are the foundation of this franchise, you can win Super Bowls with those two!

Can't control injuries, and he plays hurt. I love him. And am happy for him!
