Re: Giants Jay Alford and Canty Out For The Season
I was hoping like crazy that we didnt sign Canty, I agree VERY overrated. Actually compare his stats and Demetric Evans stats from last year, he got way too much money.

I would not say that Canty is overrated. He is not great but is quite solid. He is, however, overpaid.

Re: Giants Jay Alford and Canty Out For The Season
Eh, the Giants are like five deep at each d-line position. Their issue is going to be the WR position if their young wideouts don't work. actually do they even have a veteran wideout? I thought I heard that they cut Tyree.

They have reserves who'll step up and play. We'll have to do the same at some point.

We have been fortunate that we had no major injuries to starters or backups. This is assuming that Carlos is just being careful, and not that the team is kinda covering a more severe injury. I watched the replay tonight, and one odd thing is that Carlos was being interviewed, and they said he was just coming back from putting ice on his calf. He wasn't even playing. That makes me worried. |

GiantOne,
Sunday is getting closer every day! Just want to say good luck to your G-men - in every non division game of course. Haynesworth and Canty will have the opportunity soon to show their respective worth. I hope Eli doesn't cry too much |

Re: Giants Jay Alford and Canty Out For The Season
Please bama, it isnt overpaying when you get the best defensive player in football. And the $100 million he will never see it, do your homework. At least Haynesworth has done something to deserve getting the money, you guys just hand it out to some bum who has never done anything. Oh wait, let me compare him to DEMETRIC EVANS again.......scrub!

Re: Giants Jay Alford and Canty Out For The Season
Giants DL Chris Canty (hamstring) was not on the Giants' pre-practice injury report.
Coach Tom Coughlin said Canty could be added to the official list later if need be. Considering he the $42 million man has practiced just once since Aug. 7, he'll probably end up on the report. But signs continue to point to Canty being on the field Sunday. Chris Canty ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canty not on early injury report Defensive tackle Chris Canty has made it through one short practice - - not even in full pads - - since Aug. 7, but he did well enough that he wasn’t even on the pre-practice injury report this morning. That’s good news, even though it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Canty’s name on the actual injury report when it’s released later today. The pre-practice report is an unofficial list given to the media as a courtesy prior to Coughlin’s morning press conference on Wednesdays. Even Coughlin acknowledged that despite the absence of his name on the list, Canty’s injury is still a concern. “We’re going to build this up as we go and see how he is,” Coughlin said. “I’ll put (his name) on there for you if it’ll make you feel better. But we’ve got to watch this, obviously. Anybody that’s done as little as he’s done in the preseason, you have to be very careful about that.” The names that are on the injury list so far are C Adam Koets (ankle), CB Kevin Dockery (hamstring), CB Aaron Ross (hamstring) and LB Clint Sintim (groin). Ross and Dockery aren’t expected to practice today. Ross is “day to day” according to Coughlin, and the Giants are just “being very cautious” with Dockery. “He’s sore,” Coughlin said. “We’re just making sure it doesn’t get to be anymore than that.” The Blue Screen - NY Daily News
