For rookies

Zach Wilson
Trey Lance
Mac Jones

Usually I’m all for drafting a QB but I just think this team needs a veteran leader at that position and Stafford could give you 3-4 years. The main concern with him is health but he’s one tough SOB.

Keep Allen and Heineke around to compete

Any other options you guys have in mind?
Trade for Stafford and sign Golladay. I'd put us in the top 8 or so in pre-season power rankings asap, without any other moves/picks we made.

Stafford is my non-drafted dream scenario.

Watson would be above him, but that's just not realistic at this time imo.

Um, do you remember our team once being called the Redskins. Then like politics and stuff, and yeah now we are the Football Team.

No way this doesn't affect this team's decision at this point in time.

And I am fairly confident that even some on here will change their opinion of him solely on that fact.

I just wonder if Detroit is really wanting to let him go. Haven’t heard on that

If he has tweets promoting riots then he’s done, unfortunately that’s the new world

If I had to bet, it's one of those rumors that catches fire, and is probably not likely.

But they are far away from competing and they just fired their HC and GM. And Stafford is on the backside of his career (backside for QBs nowadays is now a long enough window to keep playing well for a few years). So maybe theirs a chance worth discussing.

I think it's more rumor than truth. But it's not unrealistic to think he could be traded either.

Ron wants to win now. He made it very clear that QB is top priority. Is meeting with Dan about it this week per reports. Idk why but whatever.

You can’t plug TH in there and expect to win , we just haven’t seen enough of him and he’s been a career backup.

I mean if he tweeted supporting storming the Capitol, then yes I would be done with him.

Other than that, if his teammates don't give a fuck I don't either. Chuck the football like you did last night and I'm a happy man. Highly doubt he's the only MAGA supporter in the locker room. As long as he's Team WFT, idc.

Of course if last night was a one-hit wonder I would also not care in the slightest about moving on from him. I want long term stability at the position.

As it is he's earned the right to try for the starting job in camp. But I'd also bring in competition in the form of a grizzled vet or a young guy.

I've seen enough to draft everything BUT a qb in the first 4.rounds this off-season and draft players around him and roll the dice. Scared money don't make money.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread

I have no problem with politics in sport or sport in politics. Neither operates in a vacuum regarding the other. Over here we have a government department and minister for sport (and arts, media etc.).

But I do have a problem when politics exerts undue influence on sport for it's own purpose (not that of a wider benefit to society).

In this case it's his personal political opinion, and while I disagree with his views, I respect his right to hold those views. It has no bearing on his ability to play and as said, if the locker room can tolerate his political stance who are we to judge?
