Bryce Harper's Start

So far, Bryce Harper is living up to the ridiculous hype - Grantland

This is very well researched article on Bryce.

Where's it say that? Don't jinx DC like that.

Its never too late to come to your senses. I need this guy to be a franchise player so I can hope to bump into him at the bar and live out the rest of my life in the lap of luxury.

Oh and he likes Duke.

Dude is a major front-runner. Of course he is still and teenager and grew up in a major town without a major pro team so he just got to choose.

Re: Bryce Harper's Start

All of that stuff about him being a frontrunner is true, but he did recently tell the media he loves DC and would love to stay here (or something similar along those lines), so hopefully he won't bolt for the Yankees as soon as his contract is up.

Living in Vegas is crazy to see how many people are Yankee/cowboy fans. Someone else already mentioned it but really it's because before the cardinals moved to Arizona cowboy games were shown here on local channels. As for the Yankees. They had a dynasty when he was a young child and espn plays their games all of the time.

Who cares who he likes. He's a National for at least another four years and I'm going to enjoy every homerun blasting minute of it

Re: Bryce Harper's Start

Good quote from Nats Insider about how much better Harper's been playing in his last 20 games compared to his first 20 games. These last 20 are ridiculously good for ANY player in the Majors, let a lone a rookie. Can't imagine he'll keep it up, but you have to love this kid.

"-- Bryce Harper is starting to heat up at the plate. Wait, you're saying he hasn't been hot this whole time? Actually, no, he wasn't. Through his first 20 big-league games, Harper hit .230 with two homers, five RBI, a .318 on-base percentage and a .737 OPS. He's now played 20 more big-league games, during which time he's hit .361 with five homers, 13 RBI, a .439 on-base percentage and a 1.147 OPS."

This...

His next contract could be ginormous and it may be near impossible to keep him in DC but for four years he'll be working for comparatively slave wages for us and hopefully it continues to be as fun as it has been.

Re: Bryce Harper's Start

It would be a mistake to let him hit the market. They'll probably extend his deal a year or two before it expires. Or they should. I think he's on his way to the All-Star game this year.

His slugging percentage is sick.
