But, if I had to play along in this scenario, Daniels cut or practice squad and keep Colt as #3.

If memory serves me right, the same thing happened to Colt. Which is why I find this whole Colt vs. Chase laughable. The Cult of Colt easily forgets that Colt became a fan favorite by his play in the preseason, yet they are up in arms about it when another QB is doing well this preseason and their beloved Colt is sucking it up.

That being said, I do think that both QBs need another shot before it is decided who gets cut. But if Chase continues to play well and Colt continues to struggle, then keep Chase. Regardless, this is just the 3rd string QB, and if we want our team to win, we should hope that the 3rd stringer doesn't see the field.

The irony is quite delicious isn't it?

You just have to laugh at the fickle nature of fans in general. A month ago people were clamoring for Colt to be the #2, hell even the starter by some real dreamers. Now he's predicted by the majority to be cut in favor of an undrafted FA. You've just gotta laugh and not take this too seriously.

I did not even think of that title until YOU mentioned it...sicko.

Thankfully I have never seen this movie people are talking about and puking over. I'm not a masochist, so I've avoided it.

Well, maybe being a Skins fan during the 90s was being a bit masochistic, but that's a different story.

Chase Daniel or Colt Brennan
Cut Chase, PS if possible.

Shaun Suisham or Dave Rayner
Cut Shanksham

Marcus Mason or Domonique Dorsey (I'll add Rock Cartwright here)
Cut Mason, Dorsey can return kicks

Devin Clark or Mike Williams
Cut Clark

Cody Glenn or Robert Thomas
Cut Glenn

Renaldo Wynn or Alex Buzbee (I'll add Rob Jackson here)
Cut Wynn hesitantly, great guy for many years, but a slowing 12-year vet vs. a promising guy with 1 season played...gotta plan for the future

Justin Tryon or Bryon Westbrook
Cut Westbrook

Re: Two Guys, One Cut

Great post!

Chase Daniel or Colt Brennan
I’m really torn here because, chances are, whichever of these guys we cut is going to promptly end up on the practice squad… and immediately signed by another team. Colt Brennan has too much “hype” to last and Daniel has performed too well to go unnoticed. Daniel’s performance last week was amazing, but so was Colt’s last year. However, in the end, I’d cut Colt. Everything I read about Colt make me feel like he’s cocky and thinks too much of himself. Now, having “moxy” is good, but a guy fighting for a 3rd QB spot shouldn’t be overconfident. Chase Daniel has worked hard his entire career to overcome his height. I’ll take a hard worker over a cocky kid any day of the week. Add to that, the fact that Chase is FOUR YEARS younger than Colt and the decision becomes a no-brainer. At this point, I’d rather lose Colt than Chase.

Shaun Suisham or Dave Rayner
“Better the devil you know, cut Rayner” – I agree with Smoot here.

Marcus Mason or Domonique Dorsey (I'll add Rock Cartwright here)
I think we have to find a way to keep Dorsey, but I would try not to do it at Rock’s expense. If it came down to it, though, I’d do it. Our starting RB is almost 28 and entering his 8th year and both our current backups (Rock and Betts) will be 30 during the season. We need to get some youth and explosion at the position. Dorsey’s contribution to the return game alone makes him worthy of a roster spot. We would definitely take a hit on special teams, with the loss of Thrash and Rock the same year, but it would be worth it.

Devin Clark or Mike Williams
I’d cut Clark. Williams has too much potential. He’s not where we need him to be yet, but we’ve got to take the gamble our starting Ts staying healthy until atleast week 5. Williams should be ready by then.

Cody Glenn or Robert Thomas
Glenn has impressed me so far. Thomas… has he even gotten on the field? No-brainer here. Bye bye Thomas

Renaldo Wynn or Alex Buzbee (I'll add Rob Jackson here)
I honestly don’t think any of these guys makes the roster. Also, remember, Lorenzo Alexander is a DE now. Given that Orakpo will be playing DE about 30% of the time, I think we only go with 9 DL this year: Carter (DE), Griffin (DT), Haynesworth (DT), Daniels (DT/DE), Golston (DT), Montgommery (DT), Alexander (DT/DE), Jarmon (DT), and… drumroll…. Skolnitsky(DT/DE). Atleast, that’s what I’d do. There’s no doubt in my mind Blache will keep Wynn. Jackson and Skolnitsky will go to the PS and If we’re lucky, one of them will stick - but I doubt it.

Justin Tryon or Bryon Westbrook
Tryon. Don’t think an explanation is necessary.

Re: Two Guys, One Cut

Chase Daniel or Colt Brennan
I keep Colt and try and get Chase on the practice squad.

Shaun Suisham or Dave Rayner
I would cut Suisham...I have been done with him since the 30 yard miss in Seattle that in my mind cost us a playoff game.

Marcus Mason or Domonique Dorsey (I'll add Rock Cartwright here)
Cut Mason...he brings nothing to the table that Portis and Betts do not already do better.

Devin Clark or Mike Williams
I'd cut Clark and see this Mike Williams project through till the end.

Cody Glenn or Robert Thomas
Cut Thomas but I don't have a strong feeling on this one.

Renaldo Wynn or Alex Buzbee (I'll add Rob Jackson here)
Definitely cut Wynn...he's old and plays no significant role so why not keep someone younger.

Justin Tryon or Bryon Westbrook
Definitely keep Tryon...Westbrook has been lurking around here for years and has never done anything. I am not thrilled with Tryon but I would keep him one more season and see what happens.

Re: Two Guys, One Cut

Here are my cuts:
Colt Brennan - I am biased. I think Chase has all the tools to be a NFL quarterback.
Dave Rayner - Neither have done anything to win the job. I might get a free agent.
Marcus Mason - Domonique Dorsey should be the Redskins punter returner.
Devin Clark and Mike Williams - I would cut both and find another offensive lineman that was released by another team.
Cody Glenn - I consistently see Robert Thomas #55 around the ball on special teams.
Rob Jackson - Renaldo Wynn is on the fence. Alex Buzbee is a keeper.
Justin Tryon - This kid is a defensive liability. NFL wide receivers are too big these days to have a midget at cornerback.

Mason becuase Dorsey's value added on Punt Returns makes him valuable to us. Mason gives us an explosive runner out of the backfield, but there's no playing time on this team for someone like that.
For all the talk at the end of last year of how we needed a speedy change of pace back to compliment portis like a sproles, im surprised so many want to cut mason.

with that being said, id let the next 2 games decide whether to keep rock, mason or dorsey. i havent really gotten a chance to watch the preseason as much as i would like and i love rock's heart but id like to see a different name as our 3rd rb. last year zorn brought in alexander which may have been zorn doing him a professional favor by allowing him to audition for other nfl teams or be an indication he doesnt want to rely on the rock if injuries hit hard.

go skins!

Good point, but I think it comes down to the economy of roster spots. If we keep either Mason or Dorsey, then we can't keep Eddie Williams, a 6th receiver (Hackett?), or a 10th lineman (Mike Williams?). So if you do keep that 4th RB, you want to make sure that he has a role on a team where both Portis and Betts are healthy AND have the ability to be a change of pace back if one should get hurt.

Which is why Dorsey makes sense IMO. Mason has a huge playing role in the second scenario, but is more of an inactive player type in the first.

I would think Dorsey is a lot more like Sproles than Mason is

I'd agree.

Mason isn't what I would call a change of pace back.

If we keep one of these guys, Dorsey makes a lot more sense since he can play teams.
