Then I don't like the lack of reaction by the team. You never want to praise brawls in sport, but man if he got hit while on the ground is whining at the official really all you gonna do for your teammate?

Put it this way, Finlay saw that, Keim saw Reed pissed off yelling at the Falcons bench and Moses got a PF penalty. Something dirty must have happened.

Re: Postgame Falcons

Cooley's grades from his Offensive Film Breakdown of the week.

I want to highlight Nsekhe's, Geron Christian's and Tony Bergstrom's grades.
Granted they didn't play a great front 4, but I did think they played better than I/we expected: when we had 3 starting Olinemen out of the game I thought Alex Smith was going to get blasted on every pass play, but he still had quite a lot of time to throw the ball. Quite a lot of missed assignments in the run game though.

Point is... despite the injuries I'm trying not to throw the towel on a 5-3 season... Cooley even said he doesn't think it's going to be that dynamic of a difference from what this offense has been this year.

Alex Smith B

Adrian Peterson B

Geron Christian C+ (Cooley says if you take away 2 or 3 really bad plays, he played pretty well. I did think he looked way more confident than during pre season)

Ty Nsekhe A-

Tony Bergstrom C- (as a fill in guy he did OK)

Chase Roullier B+

Brandon Scherff C

Morgan Moses C- (obviously playing hurt)

Mo Harris B+

Josh Doctson C+

Paul Richardson C

Jordan Reed B

Vernon Davis B

I agree...I don't think all is lost. Im encouraged Mo Harris and A Smith seemed to make a connection on the field. While we need to continue to invest on a Guard and interior Oline depth....We need to find playmakers at WR and RB. This WR core isn't cutting it at all. Cooley said this at the beginning of the year as well. At RB, AP is a good find...Is he resign able? CT is always fucking hurt. Guice is coming off knee surgery....We need to add more pieces.

Nsekhe played great...the Rook played fine. Bergstrom sucked period.

Re: Postgame Falcons

i hope and expect that this game will light a fire under these guys. the team showed some fire calling out the refs and alex bounced up smiling after a huge hit. this could be just what we needed. if not for some momentum stopping drops and bad calls this game could have turned out much different. teams need momentum. we had ours taken away at ever turn. i still have faith!

This game will be very close....if we win it'll be by a field goal or perhaps less..

I don't get this. My question to Cooley would be the offense scored 14 points against a bad defense, yet he's giving everyone B's and C's. I don't get it.

Good point.

The way I see it:

-The pick was a good throw, just a great play by the 2 DBs. Takes away potential points but doesn't significantly downgrade anybody.

-The 2 drops by Doctson were killers, I wanted his head on a spike after this... But Cooley upgraded him for his later catches and TD.

-The run game didn't get going because of a lot of missed assignments by an OL line up that had never practiced like that together, so maybe he didn't downgrade individual grades for it.

-I think he's going to be wayyy more harsh on the Defense. (EDIT: Just started listening to the Defensive Film Breakdown, he opened by saying he's not even sure he's going to say the grades... a lot of Ds, best one is a B to Matt Ioannidis)

-He doesn't give Fs, so he only gives a D when the guy played atrociously bad.

Cooleys word is gold around here. How dare you! Personally I think he was a much better player than analyst.

He's grading individual performance. One can play well independently of the overall team performance.

He can be wrong but what I like is that he always gives details and examples of why he gave the grade. I honestly am way more interested in the explanations than the grades. I just posted them to highlight that we might not be as doomed as we think as far as the OL is concerned.

That was my thought, since C is an average grade on an official grading scale the Redskin offense had a 2.6 GPA which is above average and equaled 14 points. So that would imply the average NFL team scores 10 points a game.

He must have graded them on a curve because our offense sucked nearly as bad as our defense did last week. Graded as a unit, the running game was an F - a complete failure. We were so bad as a team, that game should just be forgotten.

Like I previously posted in other threads, if the running game stops, then what?
Hopefully (been waiting) Smith gets of his funk and finds his receivers, having a healthy Harris helps.

A coach evaluating a player is going to consider how a player's performance impacted the game. Doctson's drops helped the Redskins to a 0-14 hole they are not equipped to dig their way out of. With his small sample he only caught the ball 3 out of his 6 targets and ended up with 30 measly yards, how that is a C+ is beyond crazy. So by Cooley's assessment Doctson played like an above average wide receiver Sunday. That makes no sense.
