Allen never had a losing season (67-30-1), worst record was 8-6 and went to the super bowl. Pretty damn good actually. ()

Beathard was only the GM from 78 to 88. He only used 3 first round pick in that time (Monk, May and D. Green). In Fact, the combination of Vince Lombardi, George Allen, Bobby Beathard and Charley Casserly only used three 1st round picks from 69 to 90. Those three were all great picks. Point is maybe it was a JKC modus operandi to trade up and down the board not a GM here or there.

No doubt, but it is still why he is in the position he is today

Re: Is the End Near For Bruce Allen?

Bruce Allen is the press and fan punching bag to protect Dan Snyder. He is the mouth piece for Dan Snyder.
He is the conduit so that Dan Snyder can stick his grimy little mitts into the team’s business without looking like he’s interfering. He’s the toadie and yes man for Dan Snyder. He’s the extrovert for Dan Snyder’s introverted nature. It doesn’t matter what BA’s record is, until he becomes so much of a liability and everyone screams for his firing that he must be replaced. The last person in this role was a guy named Vinny Cerrato. After about 10 miserable seasons he was fired and replaced by BA. BA took over all the jobs that Cerrato had: to protect, suck up to, agree with and carry out the commands of Danny Snyder. Eventually Bruce Allen will be fired, as Cerrato was, because he appears to be incompetent. He will be replaced by another person with the same job: to be the front guy and VP for the team, but really he’s just a suck up and puppet of Dan Snyder!!

Re: Is the End Near For Bruce Allen?

The fiasco of not taking the Texan trade (2 x 1st, 1 x 2nd, two players) for TW will be ultimately blamed on Bruce Allen. But this was Dan Snyder’s decision-100 %.

Bro you really think they were offering that for TW?

LOL. TW is early 30's, injured every year, only top of the line when he's healthy (which is never for 16 games a year anymore).

Tunsil is young and healthy and has his prime years ahead of him. Texans just solved their LT problem for the next 5+ years.

We might be able to get a 1+ for Trent, but it would never be what the Dolphins got for Tunsil.

I agree. We would never have received that big a windfall for TW. But getting a very good deal with let’s say a 1st and 2nd is better than what we have now - which is a big goose egg - NOTHING. The trade market for LT is quickly drying up and neither BA nor TW will back down this year, meaning he doesn’t play. So what do you think he’s worth NEXT year? A lot less than what Houston offered this season.

Nothing has happened yet, I highly recommend waiting for something to happen then making judgement on it because it's pointless to speculate.

The trade market for TW could explode if a contender has their LT go down with an ACL in week 1. The trade market for TW could explode if a contender realizes their hopes are shot because they're trotting out the equivalent of Ereck Flowers at LT.

Have some patience guy. I'm all about jumping on this FO when they fuck up, but they haven't fucked up on this particular matter yet.

Re: Is the End Near For Bruce Allen?

I would have taken the 1 from the pats for Trent tried to sweeten it by asking for their third or fourth but confess I am no professional GM.

Is the End Near For Bruce Allen?

Houston gave up 2 x 1st round draft picks, 1x 2nd draft picks and two players for a good 25 year old OT with “potential.”

The Texans called Washington, who said they were not interested in talking. Perhaps if BA had taken that call he would have found how desperate and naive the Texans were.

But since Bruce Allen knows that TW is coming back, I’m sure everything will be fine.

Of course. Bruce Allen knows the “truth”, and has everything under control. Don’t hold your breath....

Warthog you keep assuming you know what the Texans offered for Trent. But we don’t even know if the Texans offered anything for Trent. It’s a tremendous hole in your argument that renders all of your ranting entirely moot.

There were a lot of articles and news that the Texans had engaged the Redskins and offered a #1. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.......Then, 1-2 weeks later they make a huge trade for Tunsil which proves they WERE in fact looking for a LT. When taking all of this in, most would come to a very strong conclusion that the chances are extremely high the Texans kicked the tires on TW.

Regardless of what you believe, and regardless of what happened behind the scenes, this will look EXTREMELY bad for Bruce Allen if Trent doesn’t come back (after he’s been adamant that he will), and the they end up getting nothing when we all saw the haul Miami got. It will look even worse if Trent doesn’t come back, we get nothing for him, and the left side of the line is what ruins the season for us.

Bruce Allen has ran his mouth, has said he “knows the truth”, and continues to say Trent is coming back. Then we see what Miami got. He’s backed himself into a corner.
