He's with the organization because his last name is Allen and his father was George. DS probably figures he doesn't need to explain the obvious.

Respect that guy so much.

Really wish he was our next HC. But without a meaningful change in the FO, it would be another NYJ debacle.

They had huge FO issues during his entire tenure.

Is he a head coach? I dunno, but DC he is a baller.

I wonder if Bowles would have been offered HC, would he have taken it? Could have elevated OConnell to OC

Just cause you have 1st rounders on your defense doesn't mean they're any good. All it means is they were good in college. Plenty of 1st round players turn out to suck or just be so so...

Most of the guy we speak of in that way have shown they can play. They just aren't being coached well or schemed for...... At all.

Michael Lombardi was on the fan the other day, and I highly recommend it to anyone, as Lombardi goes in-depth on what he feels is wrong with the franchise. Most of it is gripes that we all have like Dan and Bruce, but in short he points out that culture goes such a long way in determine how successful organizations are in the long run. Again, this might seem to be common sense stuff to most of us here, but it is interesting to listen to.

He also mentions like we do here, that asking for anyone to be fired right now is foolish because at the end of the day, with Bruce still here, who is Dan going to be able to get to come here and work for him.

When it comes to the DC position? I'll take a fucking bag of Doritos right now.

It’s very interesting interview...every skins fan should listen. This guy worked with Bruce in a front office, Lombardi also worked in a front office of a Sb winning team, and he grew up a die hard skins fan.

I heard this driving into work the other day...Lombardi really sums up everything here.

Must listen too

I just listened to the whole clip, Lombardi makes some great points and I really agree in regards to Bruce not being a football guy.

But his last point about bringing in Dabo Sweeney to establish a culture I don't like. Just read an SI article about the culture Sweeney established at Clemson which basically revolves around faith and God, and he likes players that have a personal relationship with God, and I really don't think that would work in a pro locker room.

I liked his point about the conditioning though. And there's no way to confirm it now but if Jay Gruden feels like he's ready to be fired I don't blame him for wanting out.

I think this is a great interview and worth a listen for every Skins fan. I totally agree Mooby, The Sweeney comment made me cringe. I dont see that working at all with professionals.

Even though I am concerned he maybe no more than a good position coach might as well promote Tomsula to DC and give him a shot. It couldn't get any worse.

Re: How Long Until Manusky is Fired & Replacement?

The Lombardi interview was OUTSTANDING. It basically explained why the Redskins are bad-to-mediocre every year while the Patriots are supreme. The Redskins have no franchise culture. Dan Snyder would rather win 4-7 games a year under HIS LEADERSHIP and Management then win championships. That’s why previously winning HC like Gibbs, schottemheimer and Shanahan can’t win here. Because Snyder wants to control the team and his NFL knowledge is poor. That’s why the best talent leaves the team - McVay, Kyle Shanahan, etc. Bruce Allen is just the front man for Snyder to control the team. Gruden will be sooooooo happy to leave this mess. As will TW, Scherff ,etc. No one wants to play on a team that can’t win or will never win under Snyder’s thumb. The only players coming here are those FA who want to get PAID for a few years of their career.

Great summary of the lack of culture of the Redskins and Snyder’s control of the franchise.
