McLaurin will get hooked up with a legit QB when we draft one in 2021. We may be a middle draft team in 2021, but we can trade to get into a better position. Alex Smith can take this team to victory this season if he is healthy. He was not healthy this game, which is why his passes were so inconsistent. We need him THIS season and NEXT Season to mentor our new QB draftee. Haskins will be gone and we’ll get little for him. With all the mentor ship from Alex Smith he has still not improved. He may get another chance on another team, but I doubt he will be more than a backup. Steve Sims, Jr keeps dropping g key passes that hit his hands. Time to bring in Everett and Wright to see what they can do. Sims,Jr will be gone after this season. Washington has turned the corner this season. For the last 20 years, FA came to this team to cash in. The results show that. Now we will get HIGH QUALITY FAs who want to come to a team on the “up escalator”. We can get young FA who wants to join a team with a winning culture, an outstanding Head Coach and where you can make a difference. We will be looking at very good FA to replace Steve Sims and others who don’t make the cut. With the fifth highest cap money in the NFL, the team can resign Scherff and Allen if they want. The team MUST stay focused on getting the best QB draft pick in the draft. This team has gone through over 20 QB - and our record shows that. Only with a young FRANCHISE QB Can this franchise become a perennial winner. Alex Smith is our gateway to the future! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: SF Postgame
I don't like how Trent handled things on the way out. But you can't discount the Smithers factor. The moment he retires, he moves right back into my top 2-10 Redskins players of all times. He was awesome for us. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Re: SF Postgame
John Keim
@john_keim · 1h It works in unison. On Young's fumble return for a TD, Mullens wanted a fake TE screen, then to hit the WR down the seam. Curl takes it away. Mullens has to abandon b/c of pressure. Then Payne and Young take it from there. On a side note: Jon Allen is playing really well. There that guy is again... And agree with Keim, Jon Allen has been a monster this year. Get him in a long term extension.

If not they need to put him in a LB/Hybrid role similar to what Seattle does with J. Adams. He just isn't good enough in coverage to rely on, but I do think he's an effective blitzer and is solid in run support, for the most part.

Re: SF Postgame
I wonder whether as they play nickel so often they will have all three safeties on the field with Curl in the slot able to provide good run support

Re: SF Postgame
Probably unlikely but could Collins beef up and play OLB? might work well the other side to Holcombe.

Re: SF Postgame
With our cap space I think we'd be better off taking the L and selling, release if nobody will take a trade for him. He's just not worth it anymore especially with Kam Curl outplaying him.

Re: SF Postgame
The second one, pass catchers are an issue. We need more there. Add another TE and WR Curtis Samuel this offseason

Re: SF Postgame
Cooley's offensive film breakdown of the SF was really interesting.
As anemic as the offense was, the grades, excepting both QBs were pretty good. The offensive line, according to Cooley absolutely killed it across the board. Both QBs were really bad though.
