All the speculation is a moot point. Now let’s replace Bruce Allen, Kowitca and Hillard, sign Cousins and everything will be ok

If you think Gruden is a good coach it will be. I personally do not.

Re: Jay Gruden expected to return in 2018

I know the S&C staff is under the gun right now. I agree with the posters in the other thread about evaluating. I remember reading the team basically fired the previous guy in order to promote and retain Engleheart.

At the end of 2016, he was highly sought after and was leaving if he wasn't promoted.

That being said, everyone should be evaluated but some injuries just happen.

Re: Jay Gruden expected to return in 2018

In the Bengals face!!!!!

I was pretty pro Gruden until this year, but he did a lot of things that ticked me off this year.

I hope its because they thought he's a good coach and not just because they're giving him a pass on injuries and/or penching pennies.

Man, I'd do anything to see a BA IS fired thread.

Re: Jay Gruden expected to return in 2018

I am in a frustrating place with this. On one hand, I agree the injuries were a ton to overcome and the fact that we stayed competitive against a tough schedule is a feather in Gruden’s cap. But on the other hand the loss at New Orleans and the losses against Dallas and the Chargers have me thinking that Gruden’s ceiling is 10-6.

Those were bad. The New Orleans loss in particular was preventable.

But you can still see the progress being steadily made with the developing depth on the roster. Fingers crossed for the next step to be taken and of course for Kirk to be retained.

Jay is signed thru 2020. No way Snyder was going to eat 3 years of salary after a season that was destroyed by injuries.

So we go 5-11 to 9-7 for three more years. No thanks.

Re: Jay Gruden expected to return in 2018

If nothing changes, I should watch 0 games next year. But I know I'll watch all of them that I possibly can. My love for the Skins team/logo is more than all the hate I have combined towards any one person/group of people currently on the team or in charge. And I am confident this is the same for most of us here.

Yep but I expect changes. Kirk will probably be the one I hope won't change but will.

The idea of us going 5 - 7 with a healthy KC is ridiculous.

Gruden is not savvy enough to win unless we have a totally healthy and stacked team. In other words a team i could win 8 games coaching. He sucks. Bringing him back is a huge step in the wrong direction unless continuity starts counting for W’s.
