PFF has Anthony Lanier as the 5th best defensive player today. I know he recovered the fumble, but i did not notice him most of the game. He did not register a tackle in the game stats.

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.

First and foremost- this team has fight.

It wasn't too long ago, that we were finishing below .500 every year.

I know it sucks to lose tight games, but....at least we are IN these games to the end. It wasn't always like that.

So, that's step #1.

Step #2 is to learn to finish more of these games & bring home the win.

It won't take take much to get to step 2 consistently.
Josh Norman needs called out by his teammates to cut out the stupid penalties.
He knows better- he'll clean it up.

Hopkins- I am still behind this guy. Yeah, he had a bad game & missed a few make-able kicks. He is still light years ahead of the chumps we used to roll through here.
Anyone remember the (what was it?) 8-10 years of sub-par kickers?
He's still young & he'll reflect & learn from this.

So we get to the halfway point & now have a bye week.
Time to get healthy, look back on what could have been better & get a plan to fix it.

Things are not all bleak...there is a lot of positive to be taken from the crappy outcome today.

We're at the half way mark & we're 1.5 games over .500. We all know it could be more & so do the players & coaches. That should give everyone more confidence & resolve to get the rest of the little things ironed out & start rocking for the second half & the playoff run.

Hail!

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.

Is it okay to feel the need to physically beat the entire ref crew today? FFS, the game was over 4 hours long and about a third of the penalties were just bullshit. Isn't it clear the league ratings are way fucking down...clean this bulkshit up now goodell. It's unwatchable and all these commercial timeouts to go along with this crap makes watching an entire game tough.

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.

They are still a few players away on defense, and they can play sloppy and make a ton of mistakes and still almost win against decent teams.

Your the fuckin head coach, do something about it. I've heard this said 3 to 4 times after games, during games.
I agree. He is the HC, he is the emperor of the team, get it done!!!

We need to run the ball more. Gotta keep pounding it even if it doesn't work immediately. Both to have the run be a threat and to wear down their front 7.
100% agree with you there. I've never seen the Skins make consecutive playoff berths since I've been old enough to remember. There's still hope this season cab make it happen!

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.

Today was frustrating. At least we're still over .500. Skins are known to rally at the end of the season. We still have a good shot at the playoffs.

Just amazing. The NFL better say something about this game. Gooddell, do something you bum.
Seriously.

It funny that you mention that the Skins are too dumb to win because I was listening on radio and Doc Walker kept talking about embarrassing it would be to lose to a team as stupid as Cincy but every time something stupid was happening it seemed to be a Skin doing it. This team should be 7-1 but like you said Chico, they are too dumb to win.

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.

I want to see accountability from the team, and so I feel, that a guy like Hopkins should be cut. Send the message that when you make mistakes that cost your team the game, it will not be tolerated. Kickers are a dime a dozen, not like we are asking to cut a QB or starting WR.

If he can't be trusted to kick what amounted to be an extra point, then he cannot be counted on period.

Re: The after London semi-meltdown thread.

All of this is a wash if we come back strong and healthy and beat a one dimensionsal Vikings team in 2 weeks.
