Remember the Warrick Holdman days? Maybe the worst linebacker who started for us in the past 10+ years.

2005 was the last time I can say that our line was very good.

Samuels, Dockery, Rabach (before he sucked), Thomas (before he broke his leg against Dallas), and Jansen

Ah! Nice memory. I remembered Rabach came in after we had some of the worst starting center play for years. Who was it? Raymer?

Yeah Cory Raymer, what a joke he was, I kinda hope we try and sign Alex Mack.

Re: 34th Overall Pick

The draft will be something to look forward to, but I am more looking forward to free agency and the cap space we get back. That is where we will really be able to fill the holes with some quality players if we are careful and lucky.\
Crazycanuck, so how much Cap space will we have to sign an OT, LB, CB, WR?

Signing Eric Decker in free agency would solve two problems right away: WR and KR. He won't be demanding big money and he's still fairly young, only 26. If we don't go to the draft to solve those problems, this is a guy we need to sign.

Why would we have Decker return kicks???

Would you rather have Niles Paul, or Josh Morgan? Chris Thompson?

In Decker's rookie year, he returned 22 kickoffs for 556 yards, an average of 25.3. He would be better than anything we have right now.

Re: 34th Overall Pick

I really don't mind Paul returning kicks. He's like Rock Cartwright, never going to break one, but runs north-south.

Damn, really bringing up some old school names today!

He says he is DEFINITELY going to test the FA market, and I like this:

According to Pro Football Focus, quarterbacks have a 54.7 passer rating while throwing at Verner. Only Richard Sherman has a better mark.

True. I also forget he was a pretty nasty PR.

Interesting. I had thought about Talib, but since I haven't really heard Verner's name, I assume he's WAY less of a head case.

My thoughts exactly, also he is younger.

Sam Shields has similar number to Verner, and wants to get paid after the GB snubbed him last year with a 1 yr RFA contract.

There are certainly a few options out there at corner, and we have some room to play with, and they aren't ancient like Deion was, and I really hate how we haven't had a shutdown corner in years, and. . .

Not the dreaded trade back! How many times have we screwed that up?

FA first. Then assess the remaining positions of need. Then draft the BPA at a position not addressed in FA. But what do I know?
