And PFF gave a really good grade to Ryan Anderson (he didn't make a lot of flashy plays, but in the run game I think he was setting a good edge, driving his guy in the backfield): EDIT: Not sure these are this week's grades or last week's... EDIT2: Pretty sure they're this week's grades, don't think Iworah would've earn that high of a grade last week. Don't know why there's a Pat on the picture then

Re: Jets Gameday thread
Rewatched the 1st half.
Man did Tim Settle prove me wrong again! This week was way more eye catching than last week IMO, and mainly against 1st string OLinemen too. I don't even think he got drove back an inch once in the half, split double teams, batted a ball after driving Spencer Long 4 yards into the backfield... Impressive. Ryan Anderson did set a really good edge throughout the half.

Re: Jets Gameday thread
Anderson appears to be a decent run down player but is no help in the pass rush. Just not quick enough, don’t think he ever will be.

Now again, I never said there was anything to be wowed by, just that I thought, and apparently so does PFF, that he's showing signs of improvement. Not trying to make a hero out of him. Just commenting what I think I saw. Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk

Re: Jets Gameday thread
So a LB can’t make a living playing the run?

Re: Jets Gameday thread
If I have to be completely honest, I must say one of the reasons I come on this board is to learn. To learn about a sport I love and didn't know anything about 10 years ago.
Playing and officiating it taught me a lot, but I still have a learn to lot... especially about the trenches (I played CB). So if I come here and only say obvious things I know everybody will agree with ("Oh Payne looked good" "Oh too bad Guice got hurt"), I don't learn anything... Good example: last week, everybody said Tim Settle looked good, I didn't see it, I expressed it, got corrected, Schneed helped me look at the right things to see it... I learned quite a lot. With Anderson it's quite the same thing: I see him getting a good push on quite a lot of plays, I don't think he did that last year, or I missed it... Yet nobody talks about it... So I say what I saw, to have you guys' take on it... increase my knowledge of the game

Re: Jets Gameday thread
There are rotational DE/OLB on every roster. If they could rush the passer, they wouldn't be rotational.
Nobody is saying he is going to be an all pro, but he may turn into a serviceable pro. I think the jury is still out. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Re: Jets Gameday thread
Galette is still a FA if McPhee doesn’t work.

Re: Jets Gameday thread
Cooley thought he had a really good season for us, and I think he was ranked pretty high in some advanced PFF pressure stats, wasn't he?
Now, I don't think signing an OLB would be at the top of our FO's priorities list. But at the right price, why not ?
