Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Lay low, build up through the draft and make a real long term commitment to it for once.

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Why? Why not wait 3-5 years? 3-5 years is a drop in the bucket compared to the past 20 we've been terrible. We've constantly been trying the one more piece approach. We hardly have anyone under contract past 2016. It's the perfect time to start dumping people off the books and building through the draft. We need more than just a few players. We need a culture change. I want the skins to come out and tell me they're rebuilding this franchise, and that it'll be a few years. I'll be far more supportive of that than going out and spending big money on players in FA.

Stop that crap!
Look how well the "Victory through FA " has served us in the past. After all, we can't be more than 12-15 players short of the SB can we? Are we winning the off season yet?

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
After 20 years plus of mediocrity what's another 3-5 if it could mean long term sustained success?

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Just so we're all clear, our philosophy has been "build through the draft" since Bruce was hired. When he was hired, he specifically talked about building through the draft. He has talked about building through the draft for years.
The problem is that we suck at building through the draft, not that we've never tried it.

Well the guys in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds haven't been great.
But I'm all in for a rebuild with a new gm and scouting department.

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
I mean they did make the playoffs twice in 3 seasons during Gibbs 2.0 ... I think that, albeit tiny, stretch got us out of mediocrity for a few years lol... Least we had hope!

...and that's why this organization has been a absolute cluster fuck for 20 years now. Our owner and fans like you keep wanting the same stupid shit done over and over again and wonder why you keep getting the same results. It doesn't work. Didn't 15 years ago, and doesn't today. How about we try something totally different? Eh?

The new staff needs to make smart choices in free agency, and the draft. If you try to build slowly you are going to lose key players after they develop. |

Nah, our cap problem wasn't over bad free agents. Look, the good teams don't go out and supplement their holes via free agency. If anything, they get that one premium guy they are missing to complete the puzzle. (moss/revis) You don't spend cap money just because it's there. You can carry over cap money from year to year.
