GREAT MOVE, never will be it the same as 2000, the main difference is Gibbs and his coaching staff, they will make all of this FA talent into one cohesive SB team

Thank you Mr. Snyder

this will be complete if we sign John Abraham

no please don't get John Abraham

he'll end up costing us a 2nd round pick and like $8million/year and he's not a good character player

just get carter, then sign a 3rd cb and get o-line depth

We have made good moves but they shouldn't be in lieu of keeping our core players.
turnover happens every year. clark was offered a contract, but he wants to start. the core players are all coming back or have offers, and over 40 people from the 2005 team should return.

I'm a little hesitant about Brandon Lloyd. I agree we needed not one, but two upgrades at wide receiver, because I think Thrash and Taylor Jacobs are jokes. But dammit, I'm tired of parting with draft picks. Doesn't anybody else feel like we might have been able to find a wideout on par with Lloyd's abilities without giving up a 3rd and 4th rounder?
which 3rd rounder is going to put up 800-1000yards THIS year. immediate impact beyond the 1st round is very hard to find. cooley looks like a 800yard/year TE, but in his first year he only put up 260yards.

WR and DE draftees are notoriously bad at being useful early on.

To the skeptics; say what you will about picking up two receivers with question marks but here's a fact to ponder:

Last year, 19 WRs averaged >15 yards a catch (of WRs that had >30 catches). We have three of them now...

It seems like everyone is pretty happy. I don't think we should pick up anymore 49ers. Remember they are the worst team. Has anyone heard B Lloyd rap?! O and can we please pick up a new kicker. Hows 6 years 30 mil sound, Adam V.?

Yeah, looks like you were the first person here to ever mention Lloyd, Randle El and Fauria. The trifecta.

Who are we drafting Nostradiehard?

Re: Your opinion on the Skins free agent moves so far?

After listening to the three new Redskins in their press conferences, I am convinced that this free agency year has already made history for the amount of talent and upside all of these players bring. Andre Carter is only 26 years old and Brandon Lloyd is 24. In fact no player we have signed is over 30 years of age. Which makes this free agency much different than 2000.

Randle El said it best, He came to Washington because of how they approached him and showed him how he fit in this offense. Al Saunders is to be commended for his approach to the offense because very few players would have agreed to accept a subordinate role to Moss after winning being the hottest FA after the Superbowl.

fauria is 34 but TEs don't count, and i agree with bringing in young guys that could easily outperform their contracts instead of 32 year olds who could never live up to them.

R'El came for the money though flat out. I'm sure he liked a lot of things about the skins, but with equal offers, he'd be in chicago. I don't really think you can expect to be a #1 on a team that has the #2 WR in the league if you haven't even put up close to half his stats.

He has already asked JG if he's going to play the best man. Competition is always good for everyone.

You called Archuleta, Fauria, and Carter? I recall people calling for Lloyd and Randle El, but not those other guys.

But if you did call it, you are a wise one.

Looking back on old threads here are the first mentions of:

Brandon Lloyd

Christian Fauria (he also mentions Archuleta here)

and, shameless self-plug, Andre Carter

There was a lot of chatter about Randle El

Re: Your opinion on the Skins free agent moves so far?

It's not often you can go into free agency and get all the players you target, but that's exactly what we did. I'm elated with all the additions because each one fills a need on the team. The safety position had to be a concern because we have to consider ST status at this point. Boy I sure hope he dosen't go to jail because I sure would love to see him and Adam play together at the S positions. Not many would want to cross the middle of the field.

Re: Your opinion on the Skins free agent moves so far?

Just thinking back on the success Marshall Faulk, Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson have all had playing with Al Saunders and what excites me most about these moves is the damage Clinton Portis is going to do.

I think CP is going to have a monster year in 2006. Dare I say it...MVP
