I'm content on closing the chapter on Beck until circumstances dictate otherwise. I'm officially on the Rex bandwagon and pulling for him 100% every single game.
I agree

I'm officially on the "whoever gives us the best chance to win" bandwagon. If it's Rex, so be it. I just want to win games, and it appears we'll have a better chance at doing that this year with our better roster. I love the fact that they really went out and upgraded the team all around the qb.

Honestly, this is a classic situation of "if you have 2 QBs, you really have none."

Give Rex the chance to start, if it goes well then great. But I wouldn't give him a long leash. Yank him and put in Beck at the first sign of trouble.

GM Scud too.(If you let me keep my guarantee thread up it would have been glorious GM. (:

And a few others.

This is Rex's last shot and he deserves it.

Hopefully it pays off for all of us.

agree 100%. If this is who the coaches think should be the starter I'm all for it.

Yank him at the first sign of trouble? Surely you're not talking about one bad game? Or even two bad games.

And let's say they do yank Grossman at the first sign of trouble, then what? Will John Beck just waltz in and tear up like we all imagined? I doubt it. I think Rex has at least 5 games to bench himself or prove he's corrected some of his bad ways.

We'll see how long Rex lasts before he's pulled in favor of Beck.

Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB

I guess what I'm saying Schneed is Beck isn't some world beater chomping at the bit waiting to take over this franchise. We're not talking about Aaron Rodergers vs. Brette Favre. At the end of the day we're probably splitting hairs over who's better between Rex and Beck, so let Rex ride the wave for a while. Because one thing is for sure, he's going to throw a few stinkers and he's going to toss a few interceptions that will make us pull our hair out.

While I really though Beck would ultimately win this job, I can't say I'm disappointed. I have a soft spot for Rex and if the coaches think we should go with him, even more reason to support the move.

I figured Beck, but bottomline, if we win I will not care alot whether it was Beck or Grossman that led the team.

btw, I expect a Johhny5Dicky sighting in some shape or form, even if he is banned.

It would be hilarious if came back to gloat, but I don't think he's smart enough to figure out how to get past an IP ban.

Beck worked so hard and wanted to be the starting QB so badly. Let's just hope his psyche is not a fragile one and he can remain confident and focused.

Re: Rex Grossman Named Starting QB

I'm ok w this.. Grossman seems like the better overall passer, Beck is more mobile but his arm was off some this preseason.
