He's aging and he's been hurt a lot.
He's a great LT and a tough one. I'd rather him be in DC
for life! I was hoping we'd draft an eventual replacement,,,
I just we cant just let him go...Its the braintrust (tongue in cheek) job to smooth it over before camp and bring him back in the fold. Trent doesn't have an option. If things only get much worse should be explore trade option

In b4 Bruce Allen tells the media,"we're working on a new deal with Tront Williams right now"

Yes that's possible. Though it would increase his cap hit in those two seasons.

Thanks. We'll see what happens. I think they'll get a new deal done. It makes sense for both sides.

If you do it is a clear sign they are going into rebuilding mode. Gruden will be gone too. Then Reed, Norman, Sherff, Richardson, and Peterson. They will need 3 to 5 years to be respectable.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

We have a few more good years with Trent Williams. But the high draft picks the team has been using to build the DL are going to have to swing back to the OL in the next few years.

I think ego drives the need to want more money, he believes he deserves to be the highest paid tackle and he no longer is. No me he doesn't deserve to be paid the highest because of durability issues, which aren't going to improve with age.
