Armstead, Smith and a couple others - guy from the chiefs - but like Matty said thats a conversation. I like Armstead. He is younger and has to pass block all day every day.
Nobody is hands down better than TW though.
...my bad I think I am talking about KC’s RT. Ill say Ronnie Stanley instead...

Just heard on the radio that Donald Penn is coming in for a visit.

Anybody have a link?

It would definitely make sense anyway... But this could be a leverage move in the TW situation, couldn't it ?

It only makes sense. We need a better insurance policy at left tackle. Get it done Bruce

Bringing in Penn makes me think Trent could really have his heels dug in for the long term. Not good.

That was my thought too. If they sign him for $1.0M then it will tell me they're just trying to bolster the depth. If they pay $3M or something then I'll be a little concerned about Trent, it will tell me they think they have a roster hole they need to fill.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

Just get Penn on the team and kick Flowers inside or cut him.

Penn is a legit Tackle, probably should have signed him anyway as depth to begin with and have took Flowers money and signed a legit left Guard as depth and who could have challenged for starter position ala a Tom Compton.

Stop with that. Think of it in terms of stock. Buy low sell high. Right now you have disgruntled player wanting more money and an apology. If we trade him now it is the very definition of selling low. On the other side, since we have his rights for two years if he sits out we get cap relief for the games he misses, he loses money and potential money, which in the long run gives us better leverage.

Trading him now is a 2005 dan snyder move.
