Do we have any cap room left? I'd love to see how close we are and if we have room to sign anyone.

Right now, I'm starting to think that were gonna HAVE to pass on S.Taylor. I mean I really dont want too, but Saftey isnt as pressing as our Dline, and although we added a good DT in Griffin, and from what I hear a decent DE in Daniels, we still havent done enough. We can Still Get Udeze and if we get a second rounder, possibly wilfork or straks, so we will have to see. I too, would like to know our cap status. I really think we could still have some room, alot of our contracts are proboly backloaded ( I would defintley Say Porits/Springs are)

Well I think Raiders DT Rod Coleman is available, I'd go after him

Oooo very good point smoot, I completley forgot about him. If we had him/Griffin inside with Holsley rotating in, that would be awsome. I still think we need to check out another DE, though. I mean Wynn/Daniels could be a soild duo, but not the huge pass rush I think we need, right?

I've done some calculations and I figure right now we have about $2-4M in cap room. Plus they can save another $3M by dumping Trung, Moore, and Chamberlain.

So I figure there's $5-7M of cap room left. I think they can still sign Coleman or Wiley for the D line and maybe someone else like a safety, but that may be pushing it.

Not to mention Samuels could easily save us $4-5M if he would just negotiate an extension.

With all this talent and experience we have on the Dline, there's only one thing missing....Udeze!!! Just imagine him coming off the end with that raw speed and strength. Then imagine Lavar coming from the other side...this is what all redskin fans have been waiting/dreaming of for years. I say trade down and pick up a second round pick...then draft udeze, and with that second round pick...Im sure JoeG. will find a gem. HAIL REDSKINS!!!!!

I like that idea, giacomo. Trade down, get Udeze and another quality player. I like Taylor and Winslow, but this is better for the team.

PS Coleman is gone. Look for blue-collar and rookies to fill the d-line.

Here are Rasby's numbers (catches/yards/ave/TDs):

1994 Pittsburgh Steelers 0 0 0.0 0
1995 Carolina Panthers 5 47 9.4 0
1996 Carolina Panthers 0 0 0.0 0
1997 Carolina Panthers 1 1 1.0 0
1998 Detroit Lions 15 119 7.9 1
1999 Detroit Lions 3 19 6.3 1
2000 Detroit Lions 10 78 7.8 1
2001 Washington Redskins 10 128 12.8 2
2002 Washington Redskins 9 85 9.4 0
2003 New Orleans Saints 6 55 9.2 0

Based on these numbers... I wouldn't consider him a pass receiving TE at all. Don't understand what the holdup signing him is...these aren't exactly Tony Gonzalez numbers and Danny isn't famous for lowballing players (ha!). I hope he's not asking for a ton of cash.

For comparison's sake... here are Chamberlain's numbers:

1995 Denver Broncos 1 11 11.0 0
1996 Denver Broncos 12 129 10.8 0
1997 Denver Broncos 2 18 9.0 0
1998 Denver Broncos 3 35 11.7 0
1999 Denver Broncos 32 488 15.3 2
2000 Denver Broncos 22 283 12.9 1
2001 Minnesota Vikings 57 666 11.7 3
2002 Minnesota Vikings 34 389 11.4 0
2003 Washington Redskins 4 29 7.3 0

I unlike Dan Synder like the consider the future when making moves, not just shit i want to win next season. For this reason I would take Sean Tayler, the guy is a special unique player. Even though we def. need d-linemen.

Rasby isn't a pass catching tighend, he's a blocking tightend. Which means his number of catches really doesn't mean much. There are a couple of teams interested in him, so thas the hold up. One guy that would be perfect for us is Jason Peters from Georgia. HE's the 320 pound tight end, that we have mentioned before. But unfortunantly he'll never make it to the 5th round. We could have had him with our 3rd round pick, but we gave that away for the senior citizen quaterback.

Hey now, at least the team gets a discount when they go out to eat, after Bruce left we were afraid of losing that!
