Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft

Seeing as how both the Vikings and Rams are in the market for a LT it could affect how willing they are to trade down. Both would love Matt Kalil but Martin (OT Stanford) isn't a bad consolation prize. The biggest barrier to us drafting RG3 right now is the Browns with their two first round picks and Holmgren, a master of wheeling and dealing if there as one.

The rumblings from Cleveland are that Colt is not the real McCoy so the Browns may want a QB. Plus someone like the Fins could leapfrog us through a trade.

I've heard that Fins like Moore and the QB they fancy after Luck is Jones.

That would be too perfect. For that reason, I don't believe it will happen. It would have been too perfect for Indy to win today so St. Louis could get the 1st pick and trade us either the pick or Bradford, and you see how that worked out...

Miami is behind us unless they trade up. And I just used them as an example. There are other teams which might wish to jump ahead of us for a QB.

The point your trying to make about Griff assumes too much.

It assumes that Griff is gonna play the exact same way as Vick.

It also assumes that all Vick's injuries have been as a result of his running as opposed to standing in the pocket like this year against ATL getting hit by his own OL Herramans (concussion) or in the pocket against the Cards (ribs).

It also dismisses the notion that Vick could just be injury prone which is completely apart from his playing style ala Matt Schaub who only has two 16 games seasons under his belt, must be all that scrambling he does?

I get what you're trying to say though.
Griff needs to be smarter about not taking unneccesary hits and about how, when and where to run in the NFL.

Yeah it is a bit of a stretch, but there are parallels there to be made.

I think we are going trade up with the Vikings or Rams to get RGIII

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft

A couple of rumors I've heard from a Browns scout. 1) Shurmur may not last to next season. Though personally I think he stays. And, more interestingly, 2) They could make a play for Jason Campbell

Why not JC? He's a solid backup
