Re: What grinds your gears: Redskins edition

It's real easy to dismiss it because it comes from the mouth of Chris Russell (and Grant Paulsen got in on it too) but Snyder/Allen being jealous of the Caps/Nats success and the fan support makes perfect sense to me. You think Snyder doesn't care that the Caps sell out the majority of the regular season games, or that they delivered a title, or that the Nats made the playoffs after starting 19-31? Meanwhile there is no positive hype whatsoever about the Skins, they have to keep eliminating seats out of the stadium because games are never full anymore, even the games that do sell out are dominated by out-of-town fans (did anybody hear the Bears chants on Monday night before the game even started?) They were chanting on Monday Night Countdown. Fan support for the Skins has never been lower, meanwhile fan support for the Caps (and the Nats somewhat but not on the Caps level) is high every year. You really think Dan Snyder is not the type to be jealous about it?

I guess I don’t know why I should care either way or why Russell gets off on this shit

Russell's logic is sound and supports an educated guess. I guess people question whether (1) he is passing off his educated guess as being a source to make him seem like he has sources and/or (2) who cares? relatively very minor on the "I care" scale

My guess is that his guess is probably right.

Snyder can make interest in this team skyrocket 500% in 1 move: Fire Bruce Allen.

As long as he is here, I can see why fans will continue to not care or show up, and its what Snyder deserves. Loser.

Snyder being jealous of success can as easily be a motivator to re-evaluating his whole approach. I didn't read the article nor will I, but anything that shows Snyder this town deserves better can work to the good.

Snyder can’t handle the fact that he doesn’t know how to build a winning culture. After 20 years he’s as clueless as when he took over this franchise.
