Skins @ Eagles Week 1

So, going into week 1 we’re already missing the top LT in the league (WIlliams), one of the top TEs in the league (Reed), Ruben Foster for the year, and Fabian Moreau. Then Alex Smith and Colt...

God forbid they get a fair shot, and a HEALTHY team. Eagles coming in full strength, and the Skins are already missing a number of key pieces. So sick of it.

And I'll be a broken record saying I again completely agree with you on that

Re: Skins @ Eagles Week 1

If they want a fair shot they need to stop bringing back crippled players.

Foster is the only fluke injury here.

Reed, Moreau, and McCoy are already injured.
CT, PRich, Nicholson and Quinn already have their IR cards filled out, they just have to add the date.

This team can’t catch a break or fair shake. It’s literally been two seasons of injury decimation, and we’re going into a third where it’s starting already. The most injured team in the NFL by a wide margin two years and counting

To be fair the Skins are to blame for keeping players they know or can easily assume will not be available for a significant portion of the season.

I couldn’t agree more. Releasing Davis is a mistake. I hope no other team pounces.

Re: Skins @ Eagles Week 1

I don’t get upset about releasing an end of roster WR. I get more upset of why Reed is a TE on this roster when his cap number is kray and he never plays. I get pissed when we have the opportunity to get another TE during free agency and we do nothing

Of course he is, and of course we’ll be missing another key starter. We’ve going through three seasons now. Should be used to it

This is 100 percent on roster management. You cant cry injuries when the staff doesnt act to minimize them.

I feel bad for Reed. He’s had an incredible offseason, and everything said he was 100%, cutting and moving like they’ve never seen. He was popped on a dirty hit. I blame the scumbag that hit him.

Trent WIlliams has nothing to do with injuries.

Ruben Foster is bad luck and due to our curse, just like Alex Smith and Colt McCoy.

Besides Reed who keeps getting brought back after injury how are all of these players and the total decimation we’ve seen the last two years on bad management?

This team can’t catch a break.

McCoy should be cut, Reed is a known risk, so despite his quality level should not be treated like a number 1 because he isnt lasting a season. If you keep him fine but he should be kept as special value player, and have a TE group you expect to make it through the season with. They have done literally nothing to mitigate risk for players who have injury histories.

Re: Skins @ Eagles Week 1

I'm gonna go out on a limb for this one..Eagles come out cocky and rusty,Skins play great defense and offense scores just enough to pull off the upset of the day, with a goaline stand at the end..Redskins 17-Eagles 14..HOW BOUT DAT!!!

The good news is that we have young, fast and motivated rookies and young players with lots of potential. The bad news is that we’re a year or two from them adjusting to the NFL and reaching peak level.

So don’t think so much about win / loss but more about how our young players a moving toward stardom. We finally may have a real, long-term franchise QB in over 20 years or more.

We also ol need a new HC. Gruden isn’t cutting it and I’d often out-coached in games. Most HC get 4-5 seasons to prove they can get their team into the playoff picture. Gruden is on season 7. He’s predictable as hell in his play calling (hence bringing in O’Connell this year) and has the worst second half adjustment in the NFL. In other words if we aren’t winning at the half we will probably lose.

I could not agree with you more. Jay Gruden is horrible. We are not going anywhere with this guy no matter how talented our roster is.
