Re: Redskins ready to $pend?

Lol SS posted the news first in free agency thread..

Holmes is playmaker, that's for sure but I will be really surprised if Jets lets him go.

Re: Redskins ready to $pend?

Yeah I know, thought this was new thread worthy, the FA thread is getting a bit tedious

Re: Redskins ready to $pend?

I could get a lot more excited about these picks ups if I new who our QB was going to be.

Re: Redskins ready to $pend?

Now there is report (SS's link in free agency thread) claiming that Mike S is set on moving John Beck to #1 QB..

Honestly, I wonder what are the plans for WRs since they want to resign Moss and now wants to sign Holmes.. Should we expect to sign Niles Paul & Aldrick Robinson to practice squad?

Re: Redskins ready to $pend?

I really thought VY was going to be but with this lockout lasting so long I doubt it now

Re: Redskins ready to $pend?

So another JLC sourced article I see. As always I'll take it with a grain of salt.

I am not 100% sure about Holmes, I hope his issues that got him out of Pittsburgh are far behind him. He'd be a helluva pick up, although it will all depend who our QB will be. I would love to get Yanda, either him or Davin Joseph would be huge offensive line pick ups. I'm not too crazy about Gaither, I think he has health issues, and seems to have work ethic problems (red flag). I'd rather stick with Brown and get some profits from the draft picks we invested in him.

Re: Redskins ready to $pend?

Why draft all those rookie WRs then and Jarvis Jenkins so high? Might as well reached for other positions of needs. This sounds ridiculous.

Yea, I've heard that 162 times but the media doesn't make that decision.

I'm going to believe it because who else can we get in that short of a time?

Agreed. With no offseason it's likely that our QB answer, for this year at least, is going to have to be an option that is already on the roster.

Unless there's someone out there that is very well versed in the type of WCO we run here.

Smokescreen. We all know how Shanny/Allen is not about putting all their cards on the table. With our reputation for spending we need to take attention off of who we may be actually looking at to keep the other suitors distracted *cough*Asamongah*cough*

But it makes a lot of sense because of the lockout delay and Beck has been with the team and knows the offense a lot better.
