Re: 2016 Combine
Post combine question at pick 21:
If Noah Spence vs Emmanuel Ogbah vs Josh Doctsun vs Reggie Ragland vs Sheldon Rankins vs Mackenzie Alexander are available and you can't trade down who do you take? |

Re: 2016 Combine
With the draft so deep at DT/DE, I take either Ragland or Doctsun. I know I didn't answer the question, but I'd narrow it down to those two.
Now, if I'm future-proofing my team with the expectation of losing either Garcon or Jackson (or both) I take Doctsun. WRs make me nervous as hell, but I'd be fine on living with Compton and Mason for a season or two.

Re: 2016 Combine
30, imo you listed guys who are late first rounders/borderline 2nd rounds. Ragland probably, Rankin 2nd choice
I think Spence, Ok st and WR go in the second round. Alexander CB probably goes in the first. Sidenote ive heard a lot of bad things about his tape lately. The main thing is, its not good and he benefited from good safety play and the best Dline in college.

Right about now is when I start tuning out or being really careful about what I read about any prospect. Its officially lying season in the draft process. Agents, front offices begin spewing all sorts of rhetoric to each other and especially to the media with the intent being to mask their true beliefs and sometimes the rhetoric is anywhere from a little misleading to purposefully deceptive and sometimes out right fabrications. I've watched some Alexander tape and right off the bat I gotta say watching DB play on TV copy isn't the best way to assess DB play. But form what I've watched its good, very good. In man he can press, has quick feet, step for step mirror ability, confidence, good reaction to the ball, good route recognition. Like many college CBs you're not gonna confuse his tackling for a S, but that's most of them. His work in off coverage needs work but his base of ability on film is solid to my eye. I really, wish he ran CB numbers can really help in the comp to the other CBs in the class and from historical data. If Mack is isn't explosive? Lacks good speed, doesn't have decent 3-cone etc I move him down the board but still like him based on his tape. The knock about surrounding talent can be applied to many prospects from top schools. Take Ragland for example if a draftnik wants to knock his production they could point to his NFL quality DL and schematic advantage playing in a Saban defense. But, Ragland still had to make those defensive calls, still had to make those tackles, still had to defend those passes. |

Post Combine Mock Draft
2016 NFL Mock Drafts : Mock draft 3.0: Browns strike for Wentz
Pick No.21 WAS Darron Lee--OLB--Ohio St. Lee has the speed, instincts and play-making ability to be a difference maker from Day 1. Pick No. 1 TEN Laremy Tunsil OT Mississippi A trade down would be nice for Tennessee, but I don't see that happening. Pick No. 2 CLE Carson Wentz QB North Dakota St. Wentz has aced the Senior Bowl and the combine. Pick No. 3 SD Jalen Ramsey CB Florida St. Ramsey moved around like a premier CB at the combine. Pick No. 4 DAL Joey Bosa DE Ohio St. The Cowboys can't count on Randy Gregory, and Bosa will have an immediate impact. Pick No. 5 JAC Myles Jack OLB UCLA The Jags need to get more explosive on defense, and Jack can lineup at just about any position on defense. Pick No. 6 BAL DeForest Buckner DE Oregon Buckner has a rare combination of size/agility/motor and he's built to play in the AFC North. Pick No. 7 SF Jared Goff QB California The 49ers can't afford to pass on a potential franchise QB in their own backyard. Pick No. 8 MIA Kevin Dodd DE Clemson The Dolphins need to add some youth on the edge and Dodd has tremendous upside. Pick No. 9 TB Vernon Hargreaves CB Florida The Bucs need to get more dynamic at this position and Hargreaves is a ball magnet. Pick No. 10 NYG Shaq Lawson DE Clemson Lawson plays with great technique/effort and his production is outstanding. Pick No. 11 CHI Ronnie Stanley OT Notre Dame Stanley is a Day 1 starting left tackle. Pick No. 12 NO Sheldon Rankins DT Louisville Rankins will add some quickness to the Saints' defensive front. Pick No. 13 PHI Corey Coleman WR Baylor The Eagles need more explosiveness at the WR spot and Coleman is a big-play machine. Pick No. 14 OAK Jack Conklin OT Michigan St. Conklin proved has the skill set and demeanor to excel at multiple positions on the OL. Pick No. 15 STL Paxton Lynch QB Memphis The Rams need to address the QB spot and while very raw, Lynch has a huge upside. Pick No. 16 DET Laquon Treadwell WR Mississippi Treadwell isn't a burner, but I love his physical style of play and he'll be a double-digit TD producer very early in his career. Pick No. 17 ATL Leonard Floyd OLB Georgia Floyd would team up with Vic Beasley to give the Falcons two fastballs coming off the edge. Pick No. 18 IND Taylor Decker OT Ohio St. Keeping Andrew Luck upright has to be priority No. 1. Pick No. 19 BUF Jarran Reed DT Alabama There are flashier DTs available here, but Reed is the most consistent and he brings a rugged playing style as well. Pick No. 20 NYJ Ezekiel Elliott RB Ohio St. Elliott is clearly the top RB in this class and he will fit perfectly in this offense. Pick No.21 WAS Darron Lee--OLB--Ohio St. Lee has the speed, instincts and play-making ability to be a difference maker from Day 1. Pick No. 22 HOU Will Fuller WR Notre Dame There is a lot of buzz building around Fuller and I expect him to be picked in this range. Pick No. 23 MIN Josh Doctson WR TCU The Vikings need more weapons on offense and Doctson turned some heads with his performance at the combine. Pick No. 24 CIN Reggie Ragland ILB Alabama Ragland doesn't wow you with timed speed, but he plays plenty fast and can dominate against the run. Pick No. 25 PIT Noah Spence DE Eastern Kentucky If Spence checks out off the field, this would be a tremendous value for the Steelers. Pick No. 26 SEA A'Shawn Robinson DT Alabama Robinson is one the top interior defenders in the draft and he would fit perfectly in Seattle. Pick No. 27 GB Andrew Billings NT Baylor I was very impressed with the athleticism Billings displayed at the combine. Pick No. 28 KC Robert Nkemdiche DT Mississippi The Chiefs took a chance with their first-round pick last year (Marcus Peters) and it paid off. Nkemdiche has top-5 pick talent, but off-field issues will likely cause him to drop. Pick No. 29 ARI Mackensie Alexander CB Clemson There are concerns about his speed and production, but Alexander is very athletic and tough. Pick No. 30 CAR Eli Apple CB Ohio St. Apple had an excellent combine workout and alleviated any concerns about his speed. Pick No. 31 DEN Germain Ifedi OG Texas A&M The Broncos need to address the OL and Ifedi has excellent size and versatility |

Re: 2016 Combine
Reports saying Clemson players have a solid proday.
Mackenzie was timed ~4.41-4.51 and Edge rushers looked good, timed well. BJ Goodson solid workout and measurables. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk |
