I don't get how security was so lax to begin with. All of these morons obviously had Jan 6th circled on their calendars, you can't tell me we didn't have intelligence from online chatter to indicate that something big was in the works from these wacko groups like Q and the Proud Boys. Complete fail on so many levels.

Ironically the two sides are amazingly similar to the 1860s. Not specifically speaking about racism, but the rural or land owning class versus the industrial/urban class.

Not shockingly I think opposite of G1 in that I believe a mixed congress with biden as president could have done so much good toward bridging the divide, but a stacked liberal federal government will exacerbate the differences as the extreme left push an out of balance agenda through.

The security was around where the speeches were , that's where the trouble was expected . No one thought trump would send them to the Capital to attack it. The communication between all the groups was terrible.

^^ video of the moment protestors entered the capitol through a side door. really good interesting video, about 1.5 mins, you can feel the tension and the moment its breached

I highly encourage everyone to watch it

Just one officer running down the stairs .. how he restrained himself to not hit that dude with his baton I have no idea

^^ this guy basically walked back that officer

Yes i did. My best government is split house and senate with a republican president

I can actually rank all of them because of the different powers each house has

Pres rep sen rep. house dem is my favorite and if the house had focused on passing legislation not blocking DT so many good bills could have passed

Next is pres rep house rep sen dem. This is a very good setup for fiscal issues not as good for social liberty

Next is pres dem house rep senate dem

Then pres dem house dem senate rep

Next is any combination where president is one party and house/senate are the other party

Finally the worst combination is when one party controls all 3 sections because you disenfranchise half the population and it skews the policies too far one way.

Not for me. Thats what we had the past 4 years and McConnell and republicans abused it by adopting the "because we can" approach. Republicans rammed their agenda through congress and didnt compromise or slow down.

If only McConnell had allowed the vetting of Garland to proceed OR not ram barrett through last minute. His hypocrisy and seated republicans cheering it on really pissed me off.

But he did both. he also changed the rules so judicial appointments take 2 hours now.

Neither side compromised. Obviously in any of those options the underlying requirement is that the idiots cooperate with the other idiots

McConnell and Schumer seem to have a blood feud between them. Which brings us back to term limits...

Tons of video everywhere between Reddit and Twitter if you look hard enough.

^NSFW^ this is compilation footage from 3 different videos showing the moment the girl got shot. She was right behind a few others who were smashing windows on a barricaded door leading into chambers (where I'm guessing there was still congressmen/women retreating) where an officer was standing behind the barricade with his 9mm pointed at the crowd. She was getting in position to cross the barricade when she got shot.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

I rescind my statement.

She tried to cross a barricaded door with a cop on the other side pointing a 9mm at everybody, inside the Capitol with Congress still inside.

You don't need a degree to know cops are not fucking around when they're pointing guns at you. No sympathy for her.

Yup, this is what I’ve been saying a lot about these police shootings in the news...glad you have come over to this side.

This is how we should handle alllll the rioters!
