He got picked off twice by DHall according to reports and seemed to be underthrowing and overthrowing his receivers a lot -- I am putting that down to getting into rhythm with all the new receivers though, not too much to worry about this early

As long as he's sharp on short/mid routes we'll be fine. Most deep stuff will come off PA when we start playing for real....he'll hit those. If he's needing to make throws over 20 yds for us to win...we've got problems.

You planning on hitting up camp this year?

Anyone reading anything else besides redskins.com and redskins insider for training camp updates?

Well, the Shanahans like to attack all over the field. If Beck gimps the playbook, let's say he won't last too long here.

Chances are he will...we already have a problem.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread

It doesn't seem to me like Beck can't hit the deep stuff when he needs to. I mean, it's not like Matt Schaub has the world's biggest arm, but he can stretch the field when he needs to. It seems like most of his misses are a result of not having the timing down with his wide receivers, especially since it seems like he's overthrowing people. Seems like hes getting better, though. Won't know anything until they put full pads on, though.

I was at camp today; I have to say, J. Beck looked pretty solid on deep balls, surprisingly. He missed on both, but in both instances, i'd blame the recievers. A. Armstrong missed a perfectly placed over the shoulder catch and L. Hankerson caught a pass just out of bounds.

J. Beck, however, did have two D. Hall interceptions literally back to back.

Yeah? I heard he had a couple of floaters that the receivers had to come back to get.

But if you were there I will defer to you

Will Montgomery on taking over at center: "I'm very confident. This offense is tailor made for me .. inside and outside zone.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread

Good to hear, hopefully he's right. A Center emerging from the guys we have now would be huge...the line could be solidified with the only question mark being Kory L. at LG. Chester should be good at RG and the tackles are solid.

We might finally have a competent line!

Chris Russell and Grant Paulsen do a pretty good job with updates through Twitter.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread

I'm thinking Trent and Brown will be good on the corners. But I think Will Montgomery is the X factor and could be the lenchpin to the offensive line. If he performs well or exceeds expectations, I could see us having a really good shot at the playoffs.

I know that sounds like a huge leap and putting a lot on one position so early, but if your center performs well that's one less mental thing your QB has in the back of his mind and the running game is usually clicking more often than not.

Yeah, Grant's all over it. He's tweeting real time, getting some really good player interviews and getting them on the net pretty quickly.
