DHall thinks Bill Callahan could get the HC job next year

I figured he needed his own thread.

.
@DeAngeloHall23
pod: "Coach Callahahan and Jay Gruden really didn't get along, to the point that Jay went in there and said, 'It's either me or Coach Callahan,' last year."

"Don't be surprised, you heard it here first, if Bill Callahan actually retains this job, as the head coach. Don't be surprised."

DHall seems to have good insight from inside, what are your thoughts?

Re: Bill Callahan

No thanks!! The only reason he’s with the Redskins is Bruce Allen since they go to the Raiders days. Would not surprise me if stupid Allen gives him the job. We need some young, hungry, creative, discipline blood.

Re: Bill Callahan

Wouldn't surprise me at all. If Allen is staying not much else is going to change and pretty much nobody significant is going to be interested in coming here. Same shit different day.

Re: Bill Callahan

Callahan hasn't been very good as a head coach either in the pros or in college. He made a Super Bowl on the heels of Jon Gruden with the Raiders, then went 4-12 the next year. He didn't do much at Nebraska either. Do not want as head coach. He was supposed to be a good O-line coach, what the hell has happened here with that?

Wow.. if BC stays on I will really be done. It would just be a move that helps Allen keep his job. What Dan needs to do the day the season ends is get a GM from the outside that has no affiliation with anyone of the incumbents. Give him full power. No more cronies. No more losers from Tampa or Oakland.

If you look at the records of the head coaches Gibbs, Schottenheimer, and Shannahan under Snyder compared to without Snyder the difference in record is glaring. Until Snyder hires a real GM and lets him run the show, mediocrity for the Redskins will be the ceiling.

I honestly want them to lose Sunday. I want 0-16, 1-15, 2-14. I want the bottom to fall out. I want that stadium to be like it was last week. It is the only way Snyder may be forced to remove Allen or just put him on stadium operations. If the bottom falls out he may hire someone and give him full control.

Yeah agree. The only glimmer of hope we have is if Snyder gets starry-eyed over an established name and turns over full autonomy of football operations in order to land that big name. That gets Bruce out of the equation and you end up with a Gibbs II or Shanahan style situation, which admittedly were not overly successful but they were better than anything we put out there with Bruce leading football operations.

If we end up with Callahan to coach and Bruce is still overseeing football operations, that's same shit different day. Perfect term for it.

I'm in favor of ANY METHOD of removing Bruce Allen from football operations. If that method is trade a 1st round pick for Mike Tomlin and give Mike Tomlin full autonomy, it may be a shitty deal, but it's still better than having Bruce involved.

If we trade for Tomlin that would be hilarious and so Redskins.

From Vegas Insider:

The Redskins are 59-89-1 with Allen working in some capacity since 2010.

How many guys with that type record have lasted as long as Allen? I am guessing no one other than him.

They may let him go and I believe Jon is the only coach ever traded for right?

Re: DHall thinks Bill Callahan could get the HC job next year

Callahan is an upgrade over Gruden, that's for sure....his football mind appears to be a lot sharper than Jay Gruden's too....whether the changes that he implements transform into success has to be seen....he wants to put heavy emphasis on being a physical running team....the only problem with that is the Redskins offensive line appear to be less stronger at the point of attack than the defensive fronts they have faced.....the running backs have been easily swallowed up by defenders and the offensive line have failed to create holes for the ball carriers....

Penn-Flowers-Bergstrom-Martin-Moses

^^ I dont know how you run with that unit .. especially when teams know you are going to run.

Penn looks to be getting banged up. Would not be surprised to see him go down for extended time. Then we get the joy of bringing guys in off the street and starting them 3 days later. At least we have lots of experience doing that the past few years.

We were held together by duck tape the past few years but now I think we are out of duck tape.
