Re: Colts pregame thread

Highly touted rookie G Quenton Nelson will have his hands full going against a rotation of Ionnadis, Allen, Payne, Settle and others. Let’s see how he fares.

Re: Colts pregame thread

Good QB, improving O-Line...lack of substantial talent at running back.

The Colts have a playmaker in TY Hilton but their offense with new HC is all about throwing to their 2 pass catching TEs. We will need to cover the TE well...

Their defense is a tampa-2, 4-3 and extremely vulnerable. We mixed the power and zone run stuff last week should do the same. Last week it seemed like we run the most 2 TE stuff since Jay's been here...hopefully we do the same. We rotated in Sprinkle a ton as well. I expect a lot of throwing to TE and RB again...flooding zones with 3 WR/TE on one side.

I think the Colts defense could be worse than the Cards...could be more opportunities in the air, but want us to continue to run the ball.

Luck gets 2 garbage time TD in the 4th:

He had a hard time last week.

Everyone remember the NFL is a week to week league. But hope Gruden keeps the same game plan as last week.

It’s also the return of Ryan Grant who has become one of Luck’s favorite receivers. He caught 8 passes for 59 yards.

This is a home game for the 'skins, right? My assumption is Hurricane Florence won't have much affect on the game up in D.C., or will it? I just hope I have power on Sunday to be able to watch it.

Its trending more south at this point. Good for DC/Va...terrible for the Carolinas

Here's the answer to TY Hilton.

Skins win this game but it will be closer than some think. 27-20

Re: Colts pregame thread

I still think we're due to get a lot of rain, so sloppy conditions favor us a good bit I think. If Luck is trying to throw 50+ times in the rain, I think we'll win by a good bit.

This is the game the Redskins need to show they're not the old Redskins. Beat another opponent you SHOULD beat. No one knows who or what the Cards are, but the Colts pretty much suck ass.

Re: Colts pregame thread

Damn, and that's INCLUDING the usual three points for home field?! Bah on that. Bah I say.

And Luck is far from Brady/Brees. While he might be a lot better this year, he's not going to turn Ryan Grant into Antonio Brown. I'll assume Norman is going to lock down Hilton and outside of that, who does he have?

Definitely a week to week league but I definitely don't hope for the same game plan. On offense, we attacked the Cardinals with screens, RPOs, and a very steady dose of All Day. We needed to because they're incredibly aggressive and Chandler Jones represents one of the truly great pass rush threats in the NFL. The Colts are completely different - no pass rush threat, no secondary to speak of, etc. This game plan on offense should feature a lot of All Day but a ton of downfield attack coming off the play action fake. The WRs and Reed especially should strap up and get ready for a big day.

On defense I'm not feeling as willing to let Montae and DJ creep up quite so far to the line of scrimmage. The Cards have Larry Fitz and you had to watch him a bit, but TY Hilton is much faster and represents a serious deep threat. The front should be able to stop the run pretty easily in this game, but we'll need to be aggressive in rushing the passer to disrupt Luck. It's the only way they'll score points. Take away the deep ball - don't let Hilton get behind you, and do all that's necessary to get in Luck's face.
