Was Haynesworth ever effective to begin with?

What exactly has changed in the Texan's offensive line?

Happy birthday Longtime!

I have my own questions about our run defense. But maybe after a week of study, the defense will close gaps which appeared against Dallas. It ain't over until the fat lady drinks a toast to Longtimefan.

Yeah, he was better than anyone plugging up the middle in 2008. He may be a headcase, but a very talented headcase. Dumbasses like you can't simply understand that talented people are not necessarily "good people" in other regards and thus judge those things completely separately.

Re: Redskins vs. Texans Gameday Thread

I honestly don't like the feeling of this game. Listening to some of the 'experts' picks this week, has either been us winning barely or them winning by a lot.

I do think though that Arian Foster won't have a huge day like he did last week.

Andre Johnson on the other hand I'm not so sure about; he might have a big day.

I think we'll be fine with Mario Williams though, we'll just put a TE or Clinton on his side, to help out either Trent or Jamaal.

We will get more sacks though on Schaub.

This game is a toss up in my opinion. The fans will be fired up esp after last week so that will help. We got to stop the running game and get ours going.

I just don't have any faith in our run defense. Gary Kubiak, unlike Jason Garrett, isn't a moron -- so when he sees a weakness, he'll attack it over and over.

The best we can hope for is to 'contain' Foster, hope he doesn't take any long runs to the house, and force them into red zone situations where our defense stands a better chance.

Re: Redskins vs. Texans Gameday Thread

People get way too caught up in previous games...
Just because Foster ran for 230+ yards against the Colts, does not mean he will again against the Redskins...

He could, but you can't bank on it...

Just the same as the Redskins not scoring an offensive TD against dallas, does not mean we will do the same against the Texans..

Each game is different, each gameplan changes, each team has different skilled players....

Kind of like asking a girl out....people
if I walk up to a girl and say..."hey,I think we know each other from working at "Banks R Us"...How have you been doing"? (Then an hour later I'm making out with her in the parking lot...)

Does that same line work on the next girl....? No,it does not.

Guys, quit getting caught up in the "what have you done for me lately"...mentality of each previous game.

How do you know McNabb won't throw for 379 yards and 4 TD's...you don't!!

Point is,we have an aggressive Defense that causes turnovers...
and we have players on offense that are good as well and both sides of the ball are adjusting to both scheme's.

Could we lose by a lot? absolutely...
But what if we beat the Texans 46-3
Does that mean were going to the SB or my prediction of 14-2 is spot on?
NO,it does not.

And the ESPN,NFL network are too caught up in each previous game or even season...
Each game is a new day...

Dallas did not lose to the Washington Redskins
Redskins made minimal mistakes compared to dallas, but we won the game playing inspired football and not letting up on Defense!

I believe we can and will do the same at Home against the Texans.
Believe it or not,the redskins are a talented team!

Despite what you hear from the nay sayers.

Re: Redskins vs. Texans Gameday Thread

I have a very good feeling about this game, here's why:

1) Inside Info
Remember when we played the Seahawks in Zorn's 1st year?
Zorn was able to tell the defense specific things that Hasselbeck didn't like.
Kyle Shanahan's inside information on Schaub but equally if not more important is his knowledge of the Texan's defense is gonna be a talent equalizer.

2) We will run the ball. We are a running team the Colts are a finese team.
Portis left a lot of yards on the field last game by just missing holes and cutback chances.
He started hitting them in the 2nd half and i expect he's gonna start off this game with the rhythm from last game.

3) Drops. Last game there were too many drops and players in the NFL typically don't drop many passes over the course a season. I can't see 2 back to back games of 5-7 drops. I expect the drops to become catches.

4) McNabb-Donovan and the passing we become more 'in sync' every week.

5) We will come after Schaub from every angle especially the ones that Kyle tells Haslett that Scahaub doesn't like

Texans 17

Amen brother. If you wanna crown em', crown em. This is not a strong running team, we are all to familiar with their scheme. Don't over react to one week. If anything, the main concern needs to be getting pressure on Schaub and containing Andre Johnson. Don't overreact to one good game against a division rival. Give the Skins some credit they have a chance in this game.

I'm betting we learned a bit last week about run defense and can apply it today.
