When Heinicke is your starter, everyone already knows you need a QB.

Wentz sucks. There is no defending this at all. He is worth a late round pick. 5th or 6th rounder at best.

Not excited by the move. Obviously a talent upgrade. His paycheck is questionable but not extreme. IDK very indifferent overall just a basic whelmed.
Yeah, but I rather have a bridge QB I could get rid of a year from now, than committing two or three years to Winston/Mariota/Trubisky.

Also, there's going to be competition for those guys, and they will all get overpaid.

I'd rather watch Wentz than Heinecke.
I'd rather Wentz than Heinicke too. But that's low bar imo. Don't like the move. The draft will decide if I absolutely despise it.

I'm well aware of the red flags. I'm not super psyched but I also don't hate the move. They had to do something to upgrade over Heinicke.

Options are few at QB now. It's either this or paying Winston/Trubisky/Mariota guaranteed money for 2-3 years.

Carson Wentz dropped 28 total touchdowns last year on two bad ankles, in a run-heavy offense, while throwing to mostly trash. I don’t care what the Colts do. All they do is trade picks and never win.

All of that is pretty legit. His WRs were no name dudes (Pittman is ok)

He will have better weapons in Washington by far.

We don’t have JT but AG is pretty fucking good

Understood

But front office was like we are hitting a home run at QB this year look out! Then when we fanned on Wilson and Rogers; teams like Indy know we better do something after running our mouths.

I think I heard their owner , Irsay, was not happy with him, so maybe Reich doesn't have much say about it, or at least not willing to go to the owner and defend him

Same boat.

The only thing i will say about the draft is after these big qb splashes after the combine; i think alot of teams were not impressed with this years QB class.

Who cares what the FO says. Pete Carroll said last week that they weren't trading Russ. Fans need to stop acting like 5 year olds and stop believing or hanging on every word that teams/coaches/front offices say.

I'm sure if Ron wasn't saying anything and/or praising Heinecke people would be mad too.

That is a fair point

i was speaking in regards to trade posturing with other teams.

Im not stoked for Wentz either ... but its 2 3rds and we can get out after this year for 12M dead cap.

Aside from drafting Jamin Davis (who its too early to call definitively) .. Ive liked the moves weve made for the most part.
Sorry not buying it. Just like we were letting everyone know we wanted a QB, the Colts were letting everyone know what they thought of Wentz. He was getting cut. You just don't give up high draft picks for someone that is about to get cut.

I would pay Trubisky or Mariota and keep my picks. Wentz is no better than either of them.
