We let a QB price himself out of what we thought he was worth by poor front office decisions. What makes you think this front office will do better over the next 20 years? these ass clowns haven't been able to field a consistant winning team in 20 years. And the common denominator in the equation are the same ass clowns you think will turn this team around. I am hopeful, but trying to remain realistic at the same time. |

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
"Nothing else matters" Alex Smith when asked about winning a SB.

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
Bill Polian just said Alex Smith would have gotten more money than any QB ever if he'd hit the open market this year. Agree?

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
I don't think so. I mean anything is possible, but even Cousins didn't get what the "experts" felt he would get, which was $30 million a year. Cousins and Smith are very similar.

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
To be clear, all of that information pertains to the deal he signed in 2014 with KC. He will count $17M on our cap this year, because the last year of his KC deal comes over to us.
Next year, in 2019, his new extension will kick in.

Re: ALEX SMITH and moving forward.
I'm guessing Smith won't take a knee on the two yard line with seconds left in the half and no time outs. Loved Kirk, but Alex Smith strikes me as a winner.

Kirk is a really good qb and I wish we would have signed him way back when. There was frustration from Jay with Kirk not slinging it down field like Rex used to. I do really wonder how many brain farts like the kneel down happened within the offense that fans would never pick up on.
