Breaks down PR strengths and weaknesses.

Weaknesses: Drops and sloppy route running.

Strengths: elite speed deep threat, toe taps, wins contested balls, scramble drill, mostly tough.

It's what we needed in terms of skill set to compliment JD and JC. Wouldn't mind Ryan Grant for a team friendly deal to be back as our James Thrash.

Robinson would've been nice, but this seems to be a better value deal. There was no WR in this FA class that was a clear no. 1, replace his production last year for TP and we are clearly better off than last year at WR. Good move.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018

Richardson hasn't even had a 1,000 season and his tops in catches is 44. Sorry not impressed at all. Way too much money for someone with so little production. I don't care if he's fast. So are a lot of guys. It's about production, not how fast you run. How about you dummies in Ashburn stop having hard ons for wide receivers and get some guys that can block, tackle and rush the passer. Maybe if we had better blockers we could run QB sneaks when it's 3rd and less than a yard.

Your plan at WR would've been?

You mean how Pierre Garcon didn't have a 1,000 yard season prior to signing a 5 year 42 million dollar deal with us back in 2012. Don't remember you being upset then.

Trying to figure out how $8 million is too much for a WR when we basically just paid Terrell Pryor that amount last year. This isn't 1976, the cap is 170+ million dollars. He sounds like he just wants to complain for the sake of complaining. Also Richardson turns 26 in one month, plenty of room to get better

Yeah, I don't care if he hasn't had a 1,000 yard season. Hell, I don't care if he has one here. He's young, fast, and fits with how they want this offense to operate. He will help open things up, especially if they find a running game. I don't feel they overpaid. As with all deals, we'll just have to wait and see, but it is a move that had to be made anyway.

There is no way I would give someone who's tops in catches/yards is 44 and 700's. You can get that from the guys on your roster. You could get that from Mo. Harris if he got the reps.

IDK what I would do at wr. Try and trade down out of #13 if the Redskins can find a partner. Maybe try and get someone like DJ Moore in the 3rd or 4th round. Also see who will get released and get in on the 2nd wave of FA signings.

Watkins and Richardson are two guys who got overpaid based off of production. These are two potential bust FA signings.

I agree with this post 100%.

Glad we signed him. I'll take 16 yards a pop please.

Garcon is a totally different wr than Richardson. Can't even compare the two.

Not a fan of Watkins.

But did you watch film on Richardson ?
The guy is young, explosive, plays angry, top speed, blocks well...
I guarantee you he would have had more than 1000 yards had the Seahawks had an OL last year !

Mo Harris ran a 4.56. Richardson ran a 4.40.
You're not getting the same type of guy. Not at all.

We'll see. I just prefer they attack areas that lost games last year. We couldn't run and couldn't stop the run. Couldn't get a half a yard to close out the Saints game. Couldn't stop Alex Smith when we needed a stop.

Yes I can, both were number 2 WRs on their previous team, signed by the Redskins at 25 for basically the exact same contract.

we lost the Chiefs game because Doctson dropped the game winning TD more so than the stop, and we couldn't stop the run once everyone and their mom got hurt

This.
And signing a 8M WR doesn't prevent you from addressing these (legit) needs.

With the 20M left I'd sign a ILB (Zach or other) at 7-8M, Isaiah Crowell at 8-10M, and resign guys like Spencer Long.
Then I'd trade down and go DT, G, and DefBPA .
But there are other valid combinations to fill these needs.
