Well I would say Alex in 2017 yes, last year not so much, but that wasnt in the discussion. My point was there are reasons that Colt is not the answer{unless to your point we want to tank}but the age of 32 is not one of them, lets just say we can agree that Colt is not the answer

Re: Redskins Mock Draft

I do not always agree with Kiper and McShay, but this gives a good idea of who is rated to be a first round pick

Re: Redskins Mock Draft

I would not be surprised if a pick the Redskins like is not available at #15, that they would make a trade with Chuckie (brother) in Oak and move down for extra picks.

Or New England, they have 12 picks including 6 in the first 3 rounds. If Hockenson is still there at #15 NE would probably want to trade up.

A lot of chatter that ARZ is seriously considering Murray.

Re: Redskins Mock Draft

Don't remember where I saw it, might've been here or ESPN, but somebody made a good point. Tyler Murray has a great Eli Manning-like advantage built in as to his destination in the NFL, if he doesn't like the team he can force a trade by threatening to play baseball instead. Idk the kid enough to know if he'd do some shit like that but thought it was an interesting point.

What is he going to do if he falls down the draft board and playing baseball gets him a better rookie contract? Last I checked baseball has no salary cap, let alone rookie contracts based on draft position.

Here’s the thing, he’s not going straight to the majors. Minor leaguers don’t make decent money until triple A and even then we’re talking about 10k per month.

There’s no comparing the $$ he’ll get in the NFL vs baseball

Depends where he ends up. The Oakland A's have already drafted him 9th overall in the 2018 draft and signed him to a deal that guarantees him at least 5 mil if he plays baseball. He'd have to fall pretty deep in the NFL draft to get lower than 5 mil.

I don't think the scenario where he forces his playing destination will happen but never say never.

So basically he could make at least 3 times that with his rookie NFL deal

Even Lamar Jackson got almost $10M last year at pick 32

He can still get a fat signing bonus for playing baseball, right? He keeps all of that no matter where he ends up, correct?

Sure but it’s still $5M vs probably at least $15M in the NFL to start
