That said the neutral portion of it is that our culture and team building is positive enough that if players had a choice of Practice Squads and teams, and I am sure some did, they chose to stay here.
It's still only the second year of our rebuild and we've come much farther than I expected. We're still working on the overall team depth but we seem to have upgraded some units since last season.

Specifically, here where I hope you'll agree we've probably gotten better:

Defensive Backfield
Offensive Line
Wide Receiver
Tight End

Units that might be a little better:

Quarterback - Hard to say at this point and we still need that "Franchise" QB.
Running Back - Ummm, I dunno. We'll see.
Defensive Line - We got Matty I back at DT but lost Ryan K at DE. Backup DE's seem to be weak.

Units that seem to be about the same:

Linebacker - Wafer thin depth.

Units that might have slipped a notch:

Special Teams - K seems to be declining. PR/KR sucks, as usual.

Former #Seahawks LB KJ Wright is, in fact, heading to the #Raiders on a 1-year. A move they had been hoping for in Vegas

Must admit, most years I'd expect about 6-7 from our own camp roster plus 3-4 from other releases. This year they obviously haven't seen anyone else released that's better than our own guys. Hopefully that's a good sign.
I don't see him there. He has a knee bruise, don't see him going to IR for that.

Yeah that surprises me too.
But kudos to our coaching staff for knowing who they could cut and still get back on the PS...

It is weird in that it's not really listed anywhere but I here is a link from cbs fantasy
https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/fo...jured-reserve/

Says that since he cleared waivers he reverted to our IR.

Micah Kiser? He’s another LB I’d imagine RR might consider.

Mmmh, interesting. It sounds more like an automatic rules that makes him de facto be on our IR after clearing waivers with an injury designation rather than the team actually bringing him back. That would be why he's not mentioned on the team's website...
What I don't know is if other teams can sign him or not...

Yeah, it sounds automatic, but opens up questions like: is that why we only have 15 practice squad members? Or Is he eligible to return at some point?

Yop, really weird situation. I'm surprised he cleared waiver, and this create an, if not never seen, at least never noticed situation... am I wrong ?

BTW, he had one interception in 30 games. He must have had a bunch of "almost interceptions" though.

Anyway, I like Moreland, he is a great story and seems like a good dude. While I was surprised with the release, I wasn't blown away. I was equally surprised that they kept 4 tight ends, only 4 linebackers, and released AGG.

A year ago, we were looking at:
Kendall Fuller
Ronald Darby
Jimmy Moreland
Danny Johnson
Fabian Moreau
Greg Stroman

Now we have:
Kendall Fuller
William Jackson III
Benjamin St-Juste
Torry McTyer
Darryl Roberts
Troy Apke

Honestly, the secondary looks to be much improved (on paper) in my opinion. If you replace one of the six CBs currently on the roster with Moreland, I'm not sure that he makes the secondary any better.
