Long-term impact: In retrospect, the Redskins were wise to act as quickly as they did in acquiring Taylor. If still on the trading block, the division-rival Giants assuredly would have made a run at Taylor following Umenyiora's injury. Taylor himself is currently shelved with a sprained knee ligament that may force him to miss Thursday's season-opener against New York. But in the long run, Taylor should provide a big boost to Washington's pass rush. |
