Re: Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

Thumbs up: The Redskins as a team came together and performed VERY well. At least outside of the redzone. And our "Bend don't break" defense did exactly that.

Thumbs down: Jim Zorn. (Obvious reasons)

Red Zone offense agree, overall offense - not so much.

Re: Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

I give a big thumbs down to me calling Jim Zorn a great head coach.

I think he has very good head coach instincts, but his playcalling is abysmal and as long as he is calling that kind of a garbage game he is more like a very below average head coach.

Thumbs up JC passing in the middle of the field.

Thumbs down. JC passing towards the sidelines.

Under Saunders it looked like JC was uncomfortable using the middle of the field and now it's the exact opposite? What gives?

Thumbs up: Chris Cooley and the Overall Defense played great

Thumbs down: Receivers dropping touchdowns and fumbling and Jim Zorn playcalling the second half and red zone situations

Re: Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

Thumbs up: Phat Al being beastly
Thumbs up: Rocky Mc. made some fine plays
Thumbs up: Jason Campbell did everything he could, given what he had to work with
Thumbs up: Hunter Smith with a giant boot from the end zone. He may have saved us three Rams points

Thumbs down: Santana Moss was almost invisible yet again
Thumbs down: running game continues to underperform
Downright stinky: red zone play calls

Re: Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

The awful red zone playcalling overshadowed the vast improvement the team made on third downs these last two weeks.

Re: Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

Small thumbs down to Carlos Rogers. He struggles with very few receivers, but those big, physical guys in the Plaxico mold (such as Laurent Robinson) always seem to get the best of him.

Biggest positives for me, Tryon played well and so did Kelly.

Keep converting like that, and we'll be in the red zone a lot more.

Part of me wants to give Zorn a pass for taking the "we're going to run the ball down their throats when we smell blood" philosophy, but my god, after the second drive in a row where the Rams beat our OL and win at the LOS, you know, maybe don't be so hard-headed?
